my mom tried to kill herself last night

you said that they should put aside their personal problems though. i think that they shoudl still deal with them, as best they can. otherwise its a bad example. suicide, btw, is not "dealing" with a problem - its avoiding it to the nth degree

I'm really sorry to hear that Green Faerie. Please dont think it's ever your fault, sometimes we as imperfect human beings that we are blame others for our own problems, simply because it's easier to do so.
I think that the way you are handling it, it's more than could be expected from the situation. I know I cant imagine how you feel, but I can see you are a strong person (very strong for your age I might also say). I dont have much to say, my mind is not in the right place at the moment, but hang in there and hopefully you'll mom will recognize that she needs to take a moment to really look inside herself and realize what she's doing is not right.
