why are you even on the christianity thread? to act like asses? you're not going to change anybody's minds by acting hateful and arrogant. you say christians are fools who hate anything that doesn't coincide with their beliefs, yet you do the very same thing that you accuse of. you all have your own forums, so go their to rant and spew your bullshit.

one day, you'll stand before God, and then we will see how profound and fundamental your "obvious logic" is. what makes you think that you are all knowing? what makes you think you can analyze things that happened billions of years ago, billions of light-years ago, and claim that it is the absolute truth? you don't know anymore than I do, so shut up and go hate in your own damn forums. let the christians talk amongst christians....

This forum isn't for Christians, it is for people to discuss Christianity, wether they be for or against. If you feel like only talking about Christianity with other believers i suggest you try out 'The Sanctuary forum' because that is its purpose, it is a sub section of the forum and can be found above the threads.

I agree that some people are acting like real asses with very weak arguments (actually i am starting to think that FedUpAmerican is actually trying to make people more Christian by spouting nonsense arguments against it).

The second part of your arguments is quite funny because you assert that there is no way people could be sure of these things and then you assert that your God definatley does exist, and is going to judge us.

I agree that "some" of the atheists here have weak reasonings (especially atheist youth). Just realize, logically, either way, atheist or christian, you are going to have to form your view on some sort of faith (which could be factual or non factual, death is the only answer). If God's existance was logically proven, there would be no atheism!

    Peace.

    Are you a Christian?

    If so, you've learned nothing.

The only comment I have about many of the "disprove god" threads in this forum is that they aren't specifically Christian. I hink they would better fit in another forum, possibly one devoted to that type of debate (the Atheist/Agnostic forum doesn't seem like the right place to me because not many theists really frequent there)...

Another thing is that to the common observer, or the easily offended, it seems like Christians are being picked on, but it is just a product of the society. The prevailing society in much of he developed word is Christocentric, so that is waht many people get as the main worldview, so when discussing god, they turn to this faith as it's (il)logical example. That is why you don't see threads from athiests or just people interested in debate going to the Hindu forum trying to prove that Vishnu/Brahma/Shiva/Krishna/Durga/Rama/Ganesha are illogical. also this forum has the common knowledge of people who frequent the forums that is you want (a)theistic debate, this is the place to do it because the most people frequent this part of the boards...

I guess it is true that it does come under fire too, but I think it is for different reasons. People to me seem to bash Christianity mostly because it is illogical or a fairy tale, but Islam comes under fire because people perceive it as a religion that is violent to its very core...But that is a very good point.

Most of the harshness we see against islam is a product of political minds with something to gain. They've got the propaganda machine working overtime.

On the other hand, Islam has had a terrible time adjusting to modern times. It's harsh laws are pretty barbaric by any standard. No spiritual leadership. Just crusty old men with a book in their hand.

Islam currently in a period of 'Dark Ages' similar to what the western world was in 700-1200 years ago.

Hey dudes, just wanted to warn you about a thread closure. I was surfing "There Is No God", and suddenly, without warning or explanation, it was shut down. I don't know why, but I suspect it was because it was getting kind of personal & nasty, & possibly struck the site administrators as "proselytizing". I've seen this happen before. This discussion got off to a rocky start, but I think the tone has improved, so I hope we can keep it that way!

The problem with Islam is that it is 1/2 religious and 1/2 political. Mohammad was a conquerer; It isn't like some guy just wrote a book.

I have read the Koran (not all but a good enough chunk), and there is a lot in it that is very worrying.

For example, if someone cheats on their spouse, and if there are enough witnesses of the act, then you have the right to stone them to death; This leaves very little room for interpretation, and what's scarier is that it usually isn't translated into anything else. They actually believe that it's in their right to stone someone to death because God knows all and if you don't listen to the most wise, then you are committing a sin. God knows more than you, and not listening would be unwise... no matter what it is that God tells you to do.
