doof? where i live raves are illegal so there just called "parties" and are in 16+ clubs but they rarely check for age. i only go to like 1 a month though
LAME???? sorry but being in the middle of the bush with no cops or any type of security every body in peacfull and loveing psytrance music playing non-stop and getting OFF TAPP n raveing. Have u ever been to a doof they r mind opening its a compleatly differnt world where every body is equal and youcan truly be one with nature
one with nature while taking synthetic drugs and blasting loud music and probably lots of lights? and you'll have a hard time convincing me theres no litter..... everyone IS equal by birth. not everyone is always treated like an equal, but we are all equals. and to be one with nature you kinda got be in a more natural setting than a rave. being outdoors doing that shit isnt exactly being "one with nature" you wanna be one with nature? just go relax in a quiet setting, maybe sit and listen to the ocean or the birds or something... i dont have anything against raves, but i fail to see how they would constitute being one with nature, regardless of where they're held....
Theres no litter they where giving away little trash bins at the front gate. there was plenty of natury stuff goin on durning that day but i only got there at like 6pm. there is alot of G heads there but still afew acid trippers people running arround in alien ,spaceman suits =)
Rave is evaR sdrawkcab. evaR. which, incidentally, is for how long my genitalia go for. that was cheezy. BUT IM HIGH LEAVE ME ALONE
It's not about being at one with nature entirely. A lot of it is celebrating nature and technology simultaneously, creating an autonomous space where people are free to behave however they want as long as they respect the nature and the people around them. Self-policed and won't cost a penny to attend. When you say 'rave' it puts images in people's heads of fuckwits sucking on pacifiers, waving glowsticks about, huffing Vick's and wearing loads of plastic jewellery listening to mindless dance music. That is not what the free party movement is about whatsoever. It's free in both senses of the word- no rules (bar common respect) and no cost. It's a political movement and after raves were criminalised here in 1994 people attend and organise these as two fingers up at the state as well as an excuse to have a party. This is why on many anti fascist and anarchist marches etc there'll usually be a freetekno soundsytem or 5, it's about being trusted to govern yourselves. On the whole the police only enforce the laws 50% of the time and if they can see you're safe, no-ones complained and the people are friendly they'll often allow the party to continue. A kind of 'you mind your own business and we'll mind ours' approach. People here saying it's lame having never been to a party but TBH it's my favourite thing to do. My friends and I usually do 2 or 3 nature parties a year in forests or beaches or hilltops, only small gatherings (50-150 people, 2.5KW soundsystem) but in the summer I'm usually at a free party every weekend. Music can be eclectic as well, it's not just doof doof psychedelic-trance/tekno/breaks etc I've seen live bands, reggae DJ's, live hip hop and all sorts at outdoor parties! Shame it's winter here atm, a squat party is all good fun but give me nature any day!
stoners don't really fit in with the rave crowd. You guys can call it whatever you want, and justify it however you like, but it still is a bunch of E freaks running around rubbing up on everyone dancing to some crappy music. I don't care if it happens to be outside. That still doesn't mean that you're all "becoming one with nature." And oooooh reggae djs! Real stuff going on there huh?
As I said above that's not the 'rave' crowd at all, you're just proving your ignorance. That's people's perception of the commercial techno/trance/hardcore crowd, which I'd tend to agree with but in no way sums up what the free party movement is about. Those people who call that DJ worshipping, pill popping commercial nonsense rave have no idea what they're on about. The rave culture, to me at least, is a couple of hundred hippies and free spirits in a forest, with LSD cheap or often free, lovely psychedelic paintings, drapes and string art. Intelligent electronic music and mutual respect. Not a bunch of consumption kids with glowsticks, or for that matter a bunch of stoners convinced they're 'alternative' because they wear a different brand of trainers to other people. These are real people living outside of society's constraints and not buying into the latest trends, gadgets, cars and whatnot. The free party movement has been the biggest countercultural movement in europe for the last 20 years (spawned from the same ethos as the UK free festival scene from back in the day, without which none of you would know what a music festival was ), when all the so-called hippies of the previous generation had sold out or given up, so don't trash it when you are completely clueless to the history and origins of it. The acid house movement came out of this country over 20 years ago with parties in abandoned warehouses and fields and kickstarted the second summer of love in 88, spawning a huge shift in public attitudes and consciousness over here in the post-Thatcher years. Proper stoners fit in very much with the rave and counterculture crowd. The party scene is one of the most ideological lots there are and are very reminiscent of the original hippies in outlook and attitude. So frankly, my dear, you are talking shit
i fuckin love raves. ive only been to about 5, but they were all so much fun... and i was sober for all but 1(i took acid). im just a dancin fool.
thank you. and jades mom, there is a free party movement here in the U.S. as well. and everybody fits in. theres a mutual feeling of respect for everyone and everything
Doofs are amazing, man. Maybe this is just me, but Australia easily has the best bush doofing scene. Amazing people, amazing music, amazing times. A lot better than the idiotic 'kandy kids' dropping E and wearing plastic shit.
