Has anyone here ever through of starting your own new religion? I'm not talking about a cult (although one person's cult is anothers legitimate religion). But anyway, all major religions today were started by just one person. Most of them are viewed as cults at first, but if they last long enough, they go mainstream. Mormons, or Unification Church or 7th Day Adventists are some examples of religions that started with one charismatic guy, and are now accepted as "normal" mainstream religions. Anyone here could start a new religion right now. What's stopping you?
Anyone with a true spiritual ability already knows how faulty religions are at transmitting spiritual truths. We really don't need any more religions where the blind lead the blind. x
Yes, I agree. However, a religion could be started that would encourage no one to beieve anything on faith, or follow a charismatic leader. A new religion could be designed that would make people think critically. Here are some "how to" instructions I found on starting a new religion: http://www.ehow.com/how_2160175_start-new-religion.html
I thought COOL was a good idea, but I can't seem to register on their website. I never get the e mail I'm supposed to get to complete the registration. Does that mean I go to COOL hell? Anyway I've thought about what a religion would look like if it was one I started. Looked like a rainbow gathering. (not that I've been to one, but same general idea) Too many religions already though.
well all of the major religeons weren't any of them started by someone of their own volition choosing to. every christ, mohammid, buddha, krshna, lao tsu even, was someone going along minding their own bussiness who got tapped on the sholder by something bigger then any of us, as it does every thousand years, and choosen by IT, not them, to be a channel for it. now i'm not claiming to know if that makes anything infallable. i don't know if anything, is, can or needs to be, i'm just speaking on the basis of what i feel and appear to have observed. some people appearently feel that they need to gather togather to share and partake in and of spiritness. it is not, my own experience to feel this. rather i've tended to feel closer to whatever spiritness there is, in remote places without human distractions. to each their own. i could perhapse, attempt to describe one or more of the beliefs held on other tangable material worlds where i may have lived previous lives. such as the nalanuthu and nalanotho of lanananara, both somewhat tao and zen like. not that anything is ever completely like anything else. =^^= .../\...
