    Thanks, gdKumar.

Well, I don't know whether or not this was directed at me, but I'll answer it.

I think that there are different ways to percieve god. Some see god through christianity, and some see god through Islam. There are people who have their own individual perception of what, or who god is withought going to religion.

Sorry, if this isn't elaborate enough.

It is more than enough dear, thank you. Babies do not understand or have any religion to love their mothers or to be in their mothers' lap. Love is the only key and love is neither generated or nor can be taught by any religion.

    Love,

    Kumar.

every religion believes their scriptures are the word of god(s).though he gets on my nerves, Bill Maher was right when he said "god doesn't write books, man writes books"

Sorry to break it to you, your reality is twisted, and misconstrued. It is not the reality of the Universe.

No, God did not dictate the bible to them. The bible was created in order to impose control upon mankind.

It is not what Jesus invisioned.

Tell me, how do you know what Jesus envisioned?

I agree that this thread is pointless, it's just a bunch of atheists trying to insult Christians and prove them wrong - we're not going to listen to you! Nothing of what has been said has made me doubt my faith even a little, just made me realise how ignorant and sad some people can be! But then again God did warn about this!

I'm not an atheist... I believe in "God"

Do you really think the way Christianity has turned out is the way Jesus wanted the world to be?

People in power took advantage of what Jesus taught, formed it into a religion in order to impose control over the masses.

what is reality? your reality is what you perceive through your senses which are imperfect, which means you must choose to believe what you feel and see are real. belief in science, on the scientific method, in math, everything is a leap of faith and you bash people for believing something that you dont agree with

btw i choose not to believe in organized religion but i do believe in God

Avoiding the question! Jesus wanted people to believe in God, by believing He was the son of God, from the church I go that is exactly what is preached. So to me yes, this is what Jesus wanted.

The Bible is what was written by those who followed Jesus, people who Jesus trusted. If He trusted them why can't we?

Perhaps a bit off topic, but curious nonetheless, would/do you 'atheists' complain about religion on other forums? Islam, Hindu, Mormon etc? Or is it just Christians people feel they can slag off?

    Oops ...

Seems you're judging others perceptions based on your own. It's easy to say others "reality is twisted and misconstrued" if they dont perceive reality JUST LIKE YOU. (allcaps is for emphasis, not for giving the appearance of shouting.) For that matter, saying one person's "reality is twisted and misconstrued" is the same as saying "EVERYONE's" reality is twisted and misconstrued because everyone has a different perception on reality as the one you are saying is twisted and misconstrued. Everyone has a unique and different perspective on reality that is in no way the same as yours.

Now you might agree on how things appear in your perception, thereby bringing into existence your reality, but they are none the same ... never can be, never will be ... that is unless you two are the same person, seeing through the same eyes, hearing through the same ears, smelling through the same nose, tasting with the same tongue, feeling tangibles with the same body and thinking with the same mind ... then they'd be ... well ... you and not themselves.

I really dont mind having a "reality twisted and misconstrued" based on your perception of reality. Matter-of-fact, Im glad my perceptions of reality are different and can be called twisted and misconstrued based on your perception of reality. It just means that I am not you, but me.

And Moon_Beam is right ... how do you know what Jesus envisioned? Are you him? Are you that much sure you are him to be able to say what it was he was thinking? Do you have his eyes? His ears? His nose? His tongue? His body? His mind? I thought he passed from this realm something like 2000 years ago.

    _____

PS: I hate to break it to you, Bl4ck3n3D, but FedUpAmerican's reality ... well ... it is the reality of the Universe ... as is everyone's perception of reality, no matter who they are, and no matter how different they are from you.

Man the chirch faild to do whath she schould do.Also he wanted us to live in peace, love but do we,the chirch didn't brought it to us or she did?

to me this verifies my idea of how reality is often times subjective. what's real to one is fantasy to another.

Did Jesus not pray? Did He not instruct people how to pray?

Did Jesus not say the only way to the Father is through me?

Did Jesus not say to love thy neighbour, love thy enemy, forgive others?

If you read the bible you will see that your last post makes no sense as all of what you mention Jesus did and taught!

What is being preached is wrong though. Jesus taught that WE ARE ALL the son of God, and we all have the ability of doing what Jesus did (including the miracles). It is not beyond our capability, we just have to open it up for ourselves.

Besides, the new testament wasn't written till 40-60 years after Jesus' death.

no thats what you are saying lol, you refuse to let people believe in what they want and because you do not see it their way you get frustrated and start bashing them and attempt to convince them that they are stupid and that your version of reality is absolute
