Hi! deadheads! I wanted to invite you to preview the Grateful Dead channel that just launched on Sirius. The free preview is here: www.sirius.com/gratefuldead. We play the Grateful Dead 24/7 and feature interviews, rare recordings and content from experts and the band members. Hope you like it! -Noah
We have sirius radio at my job and it's my favorite radio station ever. Check it out if you have the chance. 3 concerts a day, and everyday at 7pm there is the Grateful Dead archives with David Lamue. David introduces you to the year he has selected and most times matches up the exact day. It is always a bomb of a run and the best part is they play the whole peice of the set. I remember one particular night that I was just finishing counting our registers when David Lamue comes on and says the Date and Year of the peice we just heard, I looked at the clock and it was already 8pm. An hour of a solid peice of music, no pauses, only the smooth swiftness transferring from song to song. So don't try to be unimpressed, the archive is phenominal. Many of the recordings that are played are not availible to the average listener. A HEAD's dream come true. Jerry's Alive.
Seriously, don't subscribe to Sirius just for the Dead chanel or whatever, you can download pretty much any Dead show, plus JGB, NRPS, Garcia and Grisman, etc... http://www.speedingarrow.net/forum/index.php Here is the mother link for Deadheads, just subscribe to the forum to start downloading. This link also has the Soundboards that are longer available for download on Archive.org
It is someone who tapes a live show to share with other fans. With the dead almost every show was different so you would be able to get new songs or variations of a song. A lot of bands wont allow taping because of copyrights but many jam bands allow it.
remember goin down to oaktown or the greek with me daddy and as far as the eye could see poles with microphones attached bobbed from the croud, got love fuckin tapers. I really miss jerry, that voice could make any bad day go good...
yeah i got one in my car i love it. and channel 17 plays some good stuff on there sometimes its a jam station.
