Whys that strange? because you have broad tastes? forget genres, if something sounds good listen to it. I'll go listening from Eazy-E to Burzum to Daft Punk to Funkadelic to Aphex Twin to Gavin Bryars. By limiting yourself to one genre, you're just fucking yourself in the end.
IT's all about the rachmaninoff etude, OR, in turn, chopin's wrong key etude. It is good to see someone else interested in classical guitar =) Been playing for around 7 years now, and piano for a little over a year. Classical always wins
heres my listening for today Dir en grey Niyaz Bob Dylan Dead Kennedys Maximum the hormone Primus NWA Mozart (i just love to relax to him) the distillers the GazettE Otep Easy-E and right now im listening to Woody Guthrie.
OP here: do all stoners love Chopin? I do. he is really the only classical music I listen to, but I respect a lot of it.
I have 4000 songs on my itunes from many, many genres. Controller.Controller to Lucinda Williams Grateful Dead to St. Germains: Des Pres Cafe (jazz) Subtle, and everything Dose One/Anticon to Tom Petty Sigur Ros to Bob Marley The Cramps to George Clinton and the P FUnk Allstars.... I enjoy anything with a good beat to it.... because i just love beats. I could go on and on and on
i dont know enough about the older types of music to know. i dont know any chopin off the top of my head....i mean, i know i'd recognize at least some of his stuff for sure, but i can't think of a piece and a name and know its something chopin wrote... but i really do think that our local classical stations is one of the few actually ever worth listening to. now that i have a car with a cd player i virtually never listen to the radio, but when i do its almost always NPR/PRI, or the public classical station, on rare occasions the classic rock, and on rarer occasions the rap station or the rock stations.... we do have a pretty decent college station in my town, though i know i've liked stuff by bach, by handel, by mozart, by haiden, by several of the other bachs, by liszt or however the fuck you spell it, and by many other people i couldnt name off the top of my head. it depends largely on my mood, but still, some i hear and absoluely adore, some nearly bores me to tears
i'll bump three 6 mafia right after bumpin some disturbed but not before i trip out on the doors and beatles. and i can never end the day without some Bob Marley and deltron. talk about a mix.
I have really broad taste, I like Rap, Black metal, rock, classic rock, post rock, post punk, old punk, stoner metal,Classical, old blues,Jazz,Reggael,Prog,Shoegaze, Alternative rock,Trance, Electronica, Death rock,Industrial,Neo folk, Folk,Noise,
All stoners should love Chopin, because he probably was a stoner too. Listen to any of his crazy etudes, THEY ARE NUTS. I am not self taught. I went to classes for about 5 years, then stopped and I just jam by myself now.
I listen to a wide variety of music. Everything from The Flaming Lips to To Burzum to Tchaikovsky(not sure about the spelling). I was raised by to music majors one of whom is a School band Director.
lee scratch to antonio vivaldi, wu tang to umphreys mcgee, psytrance to ravi shankar, etc etc i dont find it weird in my mind. i just like music that sounds good or inspires me
The reason I started listening to Chopin is because we watched Tombstone in school and I thought it was the most badass movie ever, but anyway, Doc Holiday is playing piano and some hick comes up and tells him to play something less depressing and he replies, "That is Frederick fucking Chopin." Then I think he shot him later and that is why it was a cool movie.
