Hi all, I was wandering around in the depths of the interweb and happened upon this forum. It seems like a really nice place from what I've seen this far. I'm slightly lost though, there are so many different forums, I don't know where to begin! So I thought I'd start by introducing myself. I'm 22, originally from Finland, now living in Scotland with my partner and our two cats. I like reading, listening to and playing music, climbing trees, chilling with friends and having the occasional toke. I hate racism, sexism, classism, homophobia and cauliflower. I love cats and I'm scared of frogs (And when I say scared, I mean phobic. Seriously.) I don't really know what else to say. I'm glad I found this place. Looking forward to talking to you all!

Hyvää päivää Kitten!Mita kuuluu? Come and say hello in the UK community forum http://www.hipforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=74
GREETINGS and SALUTATIONS "kittentits"', Living in Scotland, now are wee? Aye, ye be a fine, bonnie lassie! I had an uncle and a step-grandmother who were both SCOTCH. They were both warm, "homey" and loving people! My Scotch uncle was born in Scotland, and I think was a carpenter, when residing there. We also have good friends in Scotland, who came to visit us in America. My parents were nice enough to take them on a long vacation, out west! Of course, they had to stop at many a PUB! I can do an excellant SCOTCH accent, as two of my relatives were SCOTCH! I also ate some fine SCOTCH food from my SCOTCHISH step-grandmother, who'd make a fine, homemade CHUTNEY (relish). At first, CHUTNEY had a different taste, but after awhile, I loved it! How about some SCOTTISH 'brougue"? "Its a brik lik moonlik nik in Glocamora." Say what? Translated: "It's a brightly-lit moonlight night in Glacamora (Scotland)." Since you're originally from FINLAND, MICHIGAN's (USA) FINNISH population is mostly way up in Michigan's UPPER PENINSULA, mostly in THE KEWEENA PENINSULA. Yes, it's a peninsula on a peninsula! HOUGHTON, HANCOCK and CALUMET, MICHIGAN have many FINNISH-AMERICANS. MICHIGAN TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY is located in HOUGHTON, MICHIGAN. My dad and sister both went to college there, and learned some things of the FINNISH culture. There is a fine FINNISH resturaunt in HOUGHTON called: THE SUOMI BAKERY. MICHIGAN's FINNISH college is in HANCOCK, MICHIGAN (just north of HOUGHTON, MICHIGAN). It's a very beautiful area, and has many similarites to FINLAND, including many pine trees, hills, water and cold, snowy winters! Both cities are on both sides of PORTAGE LAKE. The FINNISH COLLEGE is: FINLANDIA UNIVERISITY (Old name: SUOMI COLLEGE) 601 Quincy Street Hancock, MI 49950 SUOMI COLLEGE (Finnish Evangelical Church of America) was founded in 1896 by FINNISH immigrants. LINKS: www.finlandia.edu and www.collegeprofiles.com/suomi.html At a resturaunt that I used to work for, in a large shopping mall, one employee, working with me, was SWEDISH, but taught at SUOMI COLLEGE. He showed me a picture of his family with 17 kids!!! I had a class at: EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY (Ypsilanti, MI) in PRODUCT DESIGN and the professor was FINNISH. His last name was LAHTI. One time I gave him some FINNISH cheese. He drove around in an old, black herse! He gave me a short ride in it! Nice "funeral" music on that tape player! It didn't bother me none! COOL!!! My life's been one strange adventure after another! It makes life exciting and meaningful! I'm neither SCOTCH or FINNISH, but I am 25% DANISH, and I have many relatives in DENMARK. I LOVE SCOTLAND and FINLAND, though! To answer your question: "How come I haven't found this forum before?" I'd answer: 1) You weren't really searching for this type of website, and/or 2) You weren't really MEANT to find it, until now! I'm a 60's/70's HIPPIE-GENERATION SOCIALOGIST, so I was INDIRECTLY searching for it, and WEB-SURFED my way here! I don't have "FROG-phobia", like you. To me, bread 'em and fry 'em and smear 'em with tartar sauce! Takes like CHICKEN/FISH! Alot of people like eating frog legs! Maybe a bit "creepy-looking" on the plate, but tasty. Frogs are not too freightening, when you can stare at them, and say: DINNER! Whose's afraid of who? I hope that you ENJOY this website (hippy.com) very much, and learn much from it! We'd love to here what you have to say! Peace, love and understanding . . .
