I very regrettably, do not share that opinion. Africa is being pulled apart by the Russians and the Chinese (Link), which will spell trouble for other nations who have intentions on taking their share of the African pie.
If we want to help Africans we shold drop import restrictions on thier products and allow then to sell goods to The West. The agriculture-on-steroids approach of the US Congressional Farm Bill does a lot to injure African production, and send a lot of subsidies to un-deserving parties. Its a puzzle as to why Congressional Reps in coastal states are so anxious to proffer these subsidies to Red State farmers?
_____________________________ Horowitz seems like he totally missed the short bus... he is a very smart man and well trained... but he seems to have other interests. Pressed_Rat... you have always seemed to be a smart guy... and in this case it seems that your eyes are muddied by bad science and the ravings of a near madman... there may be truth in something that he has written but it is so myred in shit that it is indistinguishable.
Its time we stop viewing African nations as supplicants awaiting aid to be dispursed by all powerfull goverment agencies and begin to see them as producers and creators of wealth with products to offer on world markets. By dropping import restrictions we will empower the creative, productive peoples of those nations as opposed to the burecrats. Textiles is a product Africa has ready to sell. We can purchase goods from China, with Nafta all the Americas can send exports, why not Africa?
Aids being purposely man made for population control of certain racial groups defies logic. I can sort of acknowledge an inadvertent accident happening through oral polio vaccines and chimpanzee kidney tissue, but I can't even begin to reason from the perceptive of how someone could be so doltish as to purposely manufacture Aids-biowarfare on specific races/cultures and think it wouldn't spread throughout western soceity infecting others not of those racial/cultural origins. I have to reason there's no point to intentionally consider such a risk factor, because whomever allegedly manufactured AIDS-virus would have had to known the virus would spread like wild-fire throughout more races/cultures than just their intended targets, and that eventually, 16 million people would be dead and 33 million more infected today. Epidemic list which includes whites, blacks, jews, arabs, asians, mexicans, gays, themselves, western nations, the poor, and the wealthy. That tactic just doesn't even make sense. And If his Kooky theory is ever proven true even though the majority of the scientific community doesn't even seriously consider those type of conspiracy theories then pigs will fly. I'm not buying Horowitz theory at all, but it should be included at the next Royal Society debate because finding the origin is important, plus the outcome will most likely just lead to the scientific community throwing extra flowers on the already considered died biological warfare theory. And I'm only merely considering the oral polio vaccine which I suggested but not so much, espeically when there's many theories for Aids origins that are much more plausible and widely accepted throughout the scientific community like the cut-hunter Theory.
its funny how humans believe that other humans won't do something dirty or underhanded to other groups of humans everything can't be summed up as "conspiracy theory"
Ozone's point is that if these creators of HIV were so smart and they wanted HIV to hurt Africans then they should have been smart enough to figure that it would eventually spread to whites in Europe. AIDS threat growing throughout Europe UN, World Bank and Global Fund call on European Ministers to scale up HIV prevention and treatment programmes 23 FEBRUARY 2004 | DUBLIN -- AIDS is rapidly spreading in Eastern Europe and is on the rise again in Western Europe because... I certainly would never underestimate the lengths that one human would go to fuck over another even if it resulted in them getting burned. I see it happen everyday in the classroom... and like I said earlier I am willing to entertain the concept and it very well could be true but a persons background is always relevant to their statements... if someone was the grand dragon for the KKK would you trust them to run a homeless shelter in atlanta?? background says a lot about a person... and horowitz's total shunning of the medical community seems to scream out that he didn't get what he wanted so he took his ball went home and then tried to discredit the people who weren't gonna play by his rules. and phen0m... just because some people have made breakthroughs which proved them correct rather than madmen doesn't mean that all madmen are on the verge of a breakthrough... some of them are simply madmen... horowitz may be on to something but he certainly doesn't carry much evidence... if you want to be taken seriously you have to have something to stand on... and horowitz is supported only by murmurs and rumors.
I can see why a lot of people believe it was "man made." After all, AIDS is believed to have emerged during the 1930s during the rise of Hitler (though the first modern documented case wasn't until 1959, and the first death in the US wasn't until 1969). It's easy to imagine them doing it, or the US doing so in response. But I really don't think we had the technology for that kind of thing back then.
Not to derail this thread, but the American Red Cross comes under attack alot, and 99% of it is bs. http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=3277 the American Red Cross is actually one of the most efficient charities, and their operating costs are raised independantly of their program costs.
