I saw this story (Sorry Booga) this morning and it really makes you wonder. A 100% increase on forclosures in 1 year! California has a forclosure rate of 1 in 88 homes. People living there have had to start up with tent cities. One person claimed they are at risk right now of loosing thier home (4 months behind). I cant help but wonder if instead of loosing your place and moving to a tent city that will obviously be an area of risk, why not at the first signs of danger cram themselves into the largest bedroom (surely bigger than some tents) and sublet rooms to others in the same situation, even the garage? I mean its not perfect but a simple 4 bedroom home with a garage could assist several people in the same situation and save the home too? No matter what, its obvious that the US economy is far worse than most believe. Again Christmas sales are way down, credit usage way up, unemployment is down is donw for my state but the flip to that is employment is at its lowest so obviously either people moved or simply unemployment ran out. I hope the youth can break the traditions of needing alot of useless crap. Multiple TV's cars ect. Bikes, golf carts ect in city areas will be far better than any car for you. Seriously consider the amount and room sizes you think you need for a home.
Depends on perspective... In this system, the purpose of housing isn't shelter for many, it's profit for few.... just like every other business out there. The bigger fish have been taking more than their fair share for decades and the government is by necessity getting adept at marginalizing those whose lives have been ruined by the economy.
manipulating the economy in this fashion is how the wealthy keep us from amassing wealth. it's a form of theft.
