Our souls and natures come from God. Evil natures are a gift, as in the case of Satan' s nature. We cannot help but follow our natures and if evil, it is God's wish that we contribute to evil to teach others the right way. God does not punish those who follow the nature He provides. As to hell; there is no justice when we can sin for 120 yrs and gain punishment that lasts 120000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000+, years. Regards DL
Why? Did Jesus not say love the sinner and hate sin? Do you disagree with Jesus? I too find it hard to fathom. I look to Christians for the logic behind this saying of Jesus. Regards DL
Being a sinner is slightly different to being satan wouldn't you say! Jesus saves, what does satan so?
You can't compare the average person to the devil. Yes certain things bring you closer to him, but overall people are not inately evil. Satan is the evil in the world there to tempt people to do bad, if that is comparable to sin, then you might as well say everyone on this earth is the devil and there is no hope.
I meant it mostly as a metaphor. Like saying that the devil is just an allusion to all means that distances you from God. I have been thinking that there isn't good or evil, maybe it just is.
Don't know, what would life be if it just was? People have choice for a reason. I don't think all bad is necessarily a sin or will comdemn you or anything, but there needs to a path that is 'good' and one 'bad', or else what will happen? I think temptation and greed play a very large role in why the world is as it is.
Maybe you create your own life - your own existence - If your world includes good and evil, then you will have good and evil, and this life will provide you with meaning and enlightenment. There is nihilism, and nihilism gives us existentialism. Our nothingness gives us the ability to be existentialists. Our reactions to situations can make them good or bad, of course, within our own views of good and bad.
I agree that you can make your life, like I said I think you were given choice for a reason - morals, rules, etc may be there to guide you, but at the end of the day if you don't want to follow them you wont. But I still think there has to be something more, I don't think we are just here to do whatever we want and then we die. There must be something more in the world, money, power, success, even love doesn't always fill the hole. So if you create your own life, based on nothing more than your own ideals and views of good and evil, what does it mean?
As Job indicates, He does God's bidding. We all do. He is helping us understand evil and thus get closer to God. Regards DL
Maybe it just means that we are here to experience and create, and learn. You create the more; That's the power of the human spirit. Many don't create more, so they turn to a hedonistic life style, or fall into a deep depression. Escaping that is good, I think.
Hardly. Satan is closer to God than other angels. Which other one has been given such responsibility. There is no way for any of us to not be close to God. we all live within His countenance. Have you not heard that God is everywhere? Regards DL
You could come closer to God, but only if you realise that satan is in opposition so to speak. Many people see satanism as a way of excusing them for taking advantage of all that is bad and exploiting others for their own gain. I don't think he helps people to understand evil, i think he is promoting it, to get people away form God.
I have heard that God is everywhere, and that everyone is connected to God and are possibly just an avatar of God, themselves. But what I meant by distance is the lack of awareness of the transcendent.
Sin and evil is in all of us. There is hope for all. In fact there is no need for hope. As Perfect works of God, we are all destined for heaven. God does not lose even one of His creations. Regards DL
Satan is a great salemen - He has to be - This allows us all to see who's buying. To be honest, I don't really believe in the devil - Just debating.
Why learn if you will just die? Of course escaping that is good, but it could be the fault of others, you could create and learn, be the nicest person, but if someone is evil, there is uaully a victim. People need to see that there are these two parallels, like a see saw, it's easy to swing into both, but the best it being higher - as in Heaven.
If it just was, then we would be back in the Garden that Eve rightfully rejected. The Garden of ignorance where we would not know why we follow God. The tree is there to eat. We all need to eat of it. Bon apetie. Regards DL
I agree sin is in all of us, but we all need hope. In all aspects of life do we need hope, it's proven that in illness for example hope aids recovery. Maybe it is psychological, but the mind is a wonderful albeit unknown well of possibility. We are not perfect thought that is the problem, that's why Jesus came. God doesn't want to lose any of us, He loves good greatly and hates evil just as much.
