i haven't posted in politics in a long long time, mostly because my politics have always been considered to extreme for most here. my how times have changed,,or have they? i just wonder how many ron paul supporters have truly looked at his complete agenda if he was to be elected.if you comprehend the reality of putting this country back to where our founding fathers intended it to be. ive always been a strict constitutionalist and have always held ron pauls ideals, thus not to many years ago, in this very forum i was labeled among other things a isolationist and a fascist for my beliefs. so that and a P.M. i received last night prompted me to ask the question, what are the main reasons you are choosing to support and vote for ron paul? also,if he was to be elected, what do you see being accomplished in his term? also, i really feel the troops coming home from iraq should be left out of the answers,as i see it as the least important issue he will have to address, but if you must you must.
One of the few that is clear headed. I don't know what he would accomplish, exactly. But I feel that his beliefs of how the country should be run, would begin to take hold. One of those beliefs is that we aren't the worlds police force, nor do we have the right to invade any nation that we damn well please. He would be a very good leader, and he would get the common man thinking, even if the politicians continue to be blind. Because the way to a reform, is to enlighten the common man.
Hi, My name is David Duke. I support Ron Paul because he was given the seal of approval by RONALD REAGAN. I also support Ron Paul because he believes that STATES should decide on a woman's pregnancy, not the woman. I believe that Ron Paul is the best candidate because he wants to cut domestic aid programs to the poor and children. I believe he is best because he wants to privatize Social Security and he wants the STATES to decide about civil rights issue, just like they should've been able to do in the 1960s!! Damn the Federal government!!! Mostly, I support Ron Paul because he knows the we are ONE NATION UNDER GOD & RONALD REAGAN. Hail Ron Paul!!!! Sincerely, DAVID DUKE Only DENNIS KUCINICH is the real candidate, but he doesn't have a chance.
wow you have so little faith in this nation as a whole libertine.. you seem to suggest if left to the states the majority of them would lean extreme right, quite frankly i just dont see that happening. you forget for the system to work folks vote on the local level. will there be areas of bigotry, areas where the rich far outnumber the poor etc.? aint there already? as far as whole states becoming Aryan or some shit like that,as you seem to suggest,um have ya read the constitution lately? i feel folks have a right to choose what kinda folks they live around,no matter what there beliefs. as far as social programs,an we wont even go into the global aid,,.. i say its about time we revisited the giving till it hurts. this is not a socialist nation, nor is it bound in any way to be the worlds caregiver.
The day a STATE grows a womb, let me know Hillbilly. And as far as this whole isolationist policy, yes...it is proven time and again that given "States' rights" over the rights of CIVIL RIGHTS, leads to BIGOTRY on a ridiculous level. Remember, STATES were beating the shit out of people because they were black, UNTIL the Federal government stepped in and now (even though racism exists), IT IS GREATLY improved in these areas because of courageous people who believed in TRUE FREEDOM OF THE PEOPLE, not "States' rights" which is nothing but code language for people like David Duke and George Wallace. Wallace, later, saw the error of his ways. To his credit.
I have faith in EQUALITY, not in a State's right (i.e. group of old white men) to make a decision about a woman's body or a gay person's love life! So, fuck no, I don't have THAT kind of faith. Who'd want it?
Ron Paul does not accept corporate donations and he can't be bought by them like so many politicians. What he says is what all of us NEED to hear. He leads by example instead of trying to keep us frightened like sheep. Libertine if you don't want to be part of the solution get out of the way. Why don't you go post in the "I'm such a pathetic POS" column. There are lots of problems in the US but if you have no faith in the people in this nation we don't need you. Who do work for anyway, CIA, FBI, NSA? What are you doing watching the kiddies and trying to dissuade those that have hope?
Oh so you support States' controlling a woman's womb, too? What's next VAGINA WARRANTS from Georgia? Ron(ald) Reagan PAUL is the "solution" ??? ROFLMAO!!!!!!! Like George Wallace could've been?
Libertine: you think the states are behind the federal government? Not most of the time. If states had more rights and I lived in CA, I could probably smoke weed in the governor's mansion.
what does any of this have to do with state's rights? Ron Paul was asked his opinion on abortion and he gave it. kudos to him for speaking his mind. if you think you're so weak and powerless that you can't make changes in your state and bring abortion there then move somewhere else that has it. what are you doing working today anyway? don't government employees have the weekends off?
Joad, do you think a woman in Mississippi has as much right as a woman in California? Do you think a STATE should decide on what goes on in her womb or her? Do you think that most STATES would be all sweet and utopian to everyone when the only thing keeping LYNCHING from coming back against minorities is FEDERAL LAW? And tell me, are STATES' RIGHTS more important than HUMAN RIGHTS? CIVIL RIGHTS?
federal rights, state's rights -- what's the difference? it's all about our natural human rights. you and i and those ladies you're attempting to defend have to STAND UP and speak our minds. you don't just elect a representative and leave it in their hands to decide. that's how we got in the mess we're in now. lynching eh? how about texas? they murder almost 1 citizen per day. where's the federal law in that? it doesn't matter how they're killed. so i'm a joad? you're well read for a g-man.
Because these are the UNITED States, not a bunch of individual states where you can be gay and married here and not there. That's just ridiculous. Civil Rights and Human Rights should come before States' rights. Our Federal government is wrong on a host of issues, but it is up to the PEOPLE to change that, not run and hide. States should have PLENTY OF RIGHTS, but none that would contradict HUMAN rights. When Paul speaks of "States' rights", he isn't speaking of charity programs or where to build a highway, he is speaking of a State's right to decide on PERSONAL matters and CIVIL rights matters. This is a slippery slope!
I prefer to let my locally elected and residenced officials decide local personal issues for me than allow Washington to do so. The local lobbies are a lot more transparent on the local level.
Why is the whole thing about abortion with you? I have made the vow to never get in a fight about abortion because I have researched the issue and I've made up my mind about it and would assume you have too. Incidently, Paul and I share the EXACT same views on abortion. So I guess that isn't much of a turnoff to me. Before you get on my ass about civil rights, dont. I'm studying to be a lawyer, probably in civil rights. I just believe that a fetus is just as much of a human as you or I, therefore it has civil rights too. So unless you conivnce me a fetus isn't a person, and that is purely subjective, you won't convince me abortion is ok in any case. Don't get me wrong, people that picket arbortion clinics are retards and I don't think that because you got an abortion you are evil. I just think you made the wrong choice.
Paul is consistently pro-constitution and pro-freedom... he's against the government gaining too much power. He's a breath of fresh air.
Blastocysts have the same rights as I do? You want the State to LEGISLATE what a woman does with her own womb? What the fuck happened to your "privacy", LIBERTARIANS????? A bunch of old dudes hanging around trying to make more stupid laws should decide instead of the woman whose BODY it is taking place inside? A bunch of old dudes? Are they going to PARENT the kid? A woman should NOT BE FORCED TO HAVE A KID by goddamned politicians. Fuck that!
libertine, may i ask why your even responding to this thread? the title of the thread is "what is the main reason you support paul",not hey "come on in and rave against him like a lunatic". you dont see me in your kucinich thread raving against him like a mad man do you? its completely off topic and uncalled for.
