I dont believe our country is "fucked" . Electoral change is possible if people would bother to put down the big mac and look into some candidates.

Bush won the electoral colleges 271 to 266. And won Florida by 537 votes even after recount.
I dont think that the washington politicians or wealthy would have cared either way. Both candidates were running on the same platform stealing your money but using it for thier own reasons.

Why hasn't the electoral college issue been considered by our congress, especially since 2000? Ever ask yourself why?

Fedup is right you can stand back and say your vote doesn't count, but if it doesn't why do they spend so much trying to get it? The rich folks don't spend money on something that doesn't get a return. Because people have to vote or this system doesn't work. They love the fact that such a small percentage vote. It makes it easier for them to manipulate it.

If more people voted, it would be harder to skew the results. Polls...shit I lie everytime I've been polled. Polls are only as accurate as the data they receive.

I share a birthday with Thomas Jefferson, not a saint, but still a great man. I choose to use my voice and my vote. I choose to support my constitution.

Those rich folks that you and a few others think run the show, don't clean their own toilets or mow their own lawns. How is it that they can predict the way someone who works hard for a living will vote. Because they appeal to our base instincts. They promise us lower insurance rates with tort reform and deregulation of industries that were in the past regulated for society's good. And guess what most of the populus buys into it. Even after decades of empty promises, and watching all of our costs escalate while our wages are frozen and our benefits are cut.

It's time to demand answers and accountability. It's time to throw their balance and security off. It's time to question every marketing scheme. But it's not time to throw up your hands and say I can't do anything about it. You have done things about it...just recently it seems all the wrong things for the wrong/right reasons. Did HMOs cure the health care crisis or did they degrade it? Did deregulation of utilities lower our costs, or create a situation where the poor and elderly freeze to death and die of the heat? Did tort reform reduce any of the consumer goods or services you receive? Did the seatbelt, helmet, and smoking laws reduce your premiums? Did the invention of Homeland Security protect the people when Katrina struck? Has the threat of global warming done anything but push up gas, utilities and comodoties?

They should have been impeached, but it's not going to happen now. More to the point their views and pr should have been questioned more thoroughly by our congress before the US went to war, but senators like Clinton and McCain and others bought the spiel and here we are mired in debt and war.

Why do they all profess no knowledge of SPP? And why do we let them get away with it? Shouldn't the American people be aware of how their money is being spent? Why is Bird Flu such a big part of the SPP? Why is it all being negotiated by private corporate consultants? Shouldn't our congress be part of the process?

voting really doesn't do any good ... remember the 2000 election ? Gore WON the popular vote but lost the electorial college vote which went to fucktard who became president.

we need to disband the electorial college and go to what every other country does, the popular vote. don't we (USA) interfere in elections to make sure they are run correctly and the voting is fair and accurate ? it is funny how we make sure other countires government is elected by popular but the America's isn't.

That's funnier than hell dude..you're cracking me up....guess you missed the part where I said "this country's been hijacked by a bunch of ruthless thugs ". How in the fuck is it that those votes don't match the exit polls? (you know, where they poll REAL PEOPLE)..in fact they aren't even close (for the first time in history by the way). The last election..every poll showed that stutterface monkeyboy would loose by a landslide, he fucked up every debate, and he was the most unpopular president in this country's hisory but yet he won legitimately...right? Come on dude, we ain't that stupid..wake up and smell the roses.

97,500 Florida residents voted for Ralph Nader. They have re-counted and re-counted.

Your right that it should have been easy to beat bush.

What kind of candidate could loose to bush?

What kind of candidate would have 97,000 potential supporters vote for a third party candidate in Florida alone?

Its funny how the Nader voters and those who stayed at home are screaming the loudest about bush.

What was it about Senator Kerry that kept you home on election day?

Nader didn't do anything during that election but ask questions about corporate greed and corruption. Gore lost that election on his own just as Kerry did. You may ask yourselves why Kerry brought up Chenney's daughter when he did? To me Gore and Kerry both threw their own elections, and have both probably been well paid for it.

The fact that Lieberman has shown himself to be such a troll just proves to me how serious Gore was about winning. Lieberman is the best republican that party could ever ask for.

Kerry was a joke..a rich Herman Munster. Who nominated these dweebs?
