That's not LSD, or anything to do with it. It's a sleep disorder called sleep paralysis, you should read up on it. I've had it since I was 8. It used to scare the hell out of me, until just this year I found out what it was. There's not much you can do about it, unfortunately, but getting on a good sleep schedule helps and some people say not to sleep on your back. I usually am in a half dream/hallucinatory state (usually this comes with the paralysis, its called hypnogogic sleep hallucinations) where i'll feel like someone is in the room, or my parents will be in my house when they really aren't and ive had some other really scary ones. I usually try my hardest to kick or fall off my bed til I come out of it.
wow that's intense. its always interesting to meet other ppl with sleep paralysis. i've had scary things happen like seeing someone break in, etc. i hate it. i used to think it was the devil or something. my mom thinks its spiritual (she experienced it a bit when she was younger and it went away, which gives me hope!) but all it is is, when you go into your REM stage of sleep, your body paralyzes itself so that you don't act out your dreams because your REM stage is when you dream the most, so I guess sleep paralysis is when you wake up in your REM state but you're not fully out of it.
yes but it can also be induced by opiates and sleep pills. it is indeed very frightening though i hate it.
Yah, that is why I'm always too nervous to try any sleeping pills, but I guess this perscription kind, that is sadly very very expensive, helps you get into REM sleep properly, so I am thinking quite possibly it could help. I actually just got a call from my local sleep clinic and I am excited to go see them.
