What does everyone here listen to when you don't have your own playlist running? I tend to be in on Virgin Radio a lot, especially the Geoff Show! :D

I used to have my dial glued to radio 2, but I've not listened to the radio properly in years.

The last time I listened to the radio beyond Galaxy FM for five minutes while getting a lift to work from my sister (good station in the morning, Hirsty is fucking hilarious) was at my last job. The station there was Ridings FM, which they played as some sort of sonic bombardment torture to crush our spirits. That station's shitty adverts and painfully limited playlist pissed me off more than a few dozen times.

Well, maybe the playlist wasn't so bad, apart from when they played James Blunt four times in eight hours. Still doesn't make up for the adverts, though. I passed by Rutland Upholstry, a place that had one of the more memorable shitty adverts, not too long ago...when I saw the place had closed down, I was [IMG].

Now if only Sandal Fires and Bastard Surrounds would go into liquidation, I could be happy. Just knowing that that advert is still on the radio makes me feel angry. The funny thing is that they've been advertising on there since 1999, and it's actually one of the biggest reasons for punters remembering the place. Hell, I remember the place and I'm never fucking going there. Seriously, the day that they get a penny out of me is the day they prise it from my cold dead hands. Probably after a painful interrogation scene where they subject me to all their new advert ideas.

I only ever listen to the radio really in the car. To and from work its Radio one as its mind numbing rubbish which is good for driving to work in the early morning and after a days work at 5. if not that then Radio 2. But then also I listen to Radio 4 - I love radio 4 very very ace it is!!!

Rob Da Bank, Huw Stephens and Mary Anne Hobbs :)
They're the only shows I make an effort to catch.
    All on Radio 1.

don't really listen to "radio" radio, more usually internet radio.
Pagan radio (cool pychedelic music) and Bluemars (audio Valium for when I need to de-stress a little).

I used to listen to Arrow Classic Rock in the car all the time because the tape player didn't work. I have a new car now, though, and Arrow seems to come out all crackly so I tend to stick with Radio 2....

    Radio 4 A!

I do a monthly show on this station. We're a free speech internet radio station that happens to mysteriously appear on 101.4FM in Brighton. It's like Radio 4 but the alternative/anarchist version- everything from plays to comedy to news to music to topical programmes etc and in that respect it's quite unique as a pirate station as it's not just banging techno 24/7 but a real community radio station for Brighton, Hove and beyond! All programmes, DJs, live weekends etc are all produced locally and anyone can contribute, get their voice heard and infect the airwaves! Broadcasting 24/7 on 101.4FM locally and streamed online at www dot radio4a dot org dot uk

    Our manifesto:
    • To create and broadcast a space in a stifling world where our voices are not heard and where the media is tightly controlled.
    • To be independent from media and art where every word is bought and sold, by offering something for free.
    • To broadcast programmes, communicate and explain events, as they occur, without being censored.
    • To raise questions and provide information in a politically controlled world, undermining the power of the controllers.
    • To provide an alternative to mainstream media culture and what they hold sacred; having fun whilst not taking ourselves too seriously.
    • To provide a real community radio for Brighton.
    • To give accurate current accounts of local and global political events.
    • Because we are, like you, real people who make mistakes in a "perfect" world represented by businessmen, politicians and professionals saturated with information and a media that says nothing.
    • Something to listen to ... because the silence is deafening.
    Peace!
