Okay, first, I want to say I am from europe, so this is a question about something I sometimes read into american forums, but have no idea of its meaning:

What's all this thing about "Bears shits in the woods".

I am just wondering where does it comes from, what does it mean if that's some joke, etc... :)

Okay, I know bears shits in the woods, but... I guess you understand what I am asking. [IMG]

it means that an answer to a question is obviously "yes."

does a bear shit in the woods? of course it does.

its just another way of saying "obviously."

Het is ook een goed Nederlands gezegde: 'de beer schijt in de bossen'.

To continue in good English: when bears shits in the woods it means that bad weather is coming. This is an old Indian proverb.

It's taken out of context and is used to answer a question that is considered an obvious yes... example:
    "Is George Bush a moron?"
"Does a bear shit in the woods?"

    edit:
^^it was put more succinctly here^^
