Seems the state and federal goverment is doing nothing (nothing new to us) but cities are starting to work to fix a problem with lack of GREEN ideas. Seems alot of tax programs, incentives, loan programs and just plain cold hard cash are being offered, take a gander....

IRS had a deduction on last year's tax return for those who bought hybrids. I wish the city I live in would just implement an easier way to recycle. In order to do so, one has to visit like 8 to 10 different places for each recyclable item. Talk about counterproductive when it comes to having to use the gas to get to each of these places.

On a separate note, does anyone know why the U.S. hasn't completely made the switch to biofuels? Is it just procrastination in the government?

Simple, The US already is unable to produce enough food on its own to support all if its people with the early trends of bio fuels. As it increases those lands once used to feed people will become used for feeding cars thus what are you left to eat?

Bio fuels are band aids to a problem. Major changes are going to be required and as for hi-inbreds they are a waste of time and money. The mpg ratings have been proved to be inflated and since they require more materials to produce (two engines for example) they are harder on the enviroment to produce. Look at the Toyota, do a little research on it, bad news for a car that Green thinkers are all orgasmic over. VW gets better mpg overall and less material to produce it and will be less wasted to deal with later.

Biofuels are inefficient and costly. At the same time, the powers that be are suppressing REAL forms of free energy technology that could rid our dependence on oil tomorrow. What ever happened to the water-powered car? What about zero point energy? These are alternatives we should be discussing.
