Since this has nothing to do with race, I'd venture a no. It's more to do with customer service not paying high enough wages to attract polite fluent people.
You can prove unequivocally you’re not a racist by driving to East St Louis wearing a T-shirt which reads “I Love Niggers” Yes, I go to church (but only for photo-ops) Hotwater
I have the feeling the only thing you'll prove by doing that is that you can sustain a severe beating, eventually re-graduating to solid foods and rehabilitate to become a productive member of society at some level.... from a wheelchair.
I wouldn't sell him short If I were you. With some of the latest breakthroughs in cyberkinetics (such as the brain-computer interface) even in a wheelchair, he’d be able to post here on random thoughts 24/7 He could even become a moderator, wouldn't that be worth it :H h
That would be so totally worth it-- the pinnacle of a life's work brought to point of complete fruition.
I hate how my bank's call centre is in India and whenever I call them they never know anything, they can't understand me and it makes me so suspicious about handing them my bank details. Grrr. That being said, one time I went to the bank to cash a cheque and the guy who was serving me was American. I didn't understand him either.
I give kudos to you Brits for dropping the traditional rural dialects for mainstream dialects hotwater
Hate to sidetrack--sorta--but I have to tell everyone who is too young to remember--it all started in 1973 when the fucken oil companies pretended we were going to run out of oil VERY SOON.We all put up with their shenanigans and over the years more and more and more companies realized that we ,the citizens weren't going to do shit about what ever they did to us.Used to always talk to a REAL person when you called any company--now they could care less because they know we're gutless!!So here we are.I'm fortunate to have lived most of my life when things were actually good.Bastards.
Yank, I agree with you 100% and I certainly would not call you a racist! I believe that if one is employed in a job such as that in customer service, that they should be required to speak proper English. After all, they're dealing with American citizens who, for the most part, speak English! Part of me wonders if it's intentional, so we end up agreeing to services or charges simply because we couldn't understand what was being said in the first place.
I've been having the same trouble with a computer company. So far, I have put off buying a computer until recently, after going through high school and some college without one. When I finally went to buy a laptop, I chose a well advertised if not a good brand. I have only spoken to people in South India. It's all boiled down to 3 bad shipments/replacements/even the item they sent to make good is Wrong. I told the last man I spoke with that I wanted to speak to an American, to which he replied "there are stations all over the globe..." and I mentioned I have only spoken to people in South India and nothing has been good out of this order so far. Ho Hum. I was beginning to wonder if I was becoming pre-disposed to not want to speak with foreigners. My patience has started to go, too. And it ain't over yet...
I am gonna gamble on this one so here it goes... I bet the person you spoke to to buy that computer spoke great english, am I correct? Seems alot of places to buy from are having no trouble getting english speaking sales people but tech support seems to fall under another area. Dell is real bad for that. You call to order and they guy is like an english professor, you get the item and its fucked up and you get somebody from a far off land that could not give a rats ass about the accent.
whether a prejudice is about race or something else, like idiology or economics, it is almost invariably a harmful self deception. =^^= .../\...
I'm probably going to catch hell from you Hippies for having an opinion contrary to the popular politically correct sh-- your used to but,I truly believe racism exists today because the minorities want to keep it alive so they can maintain their safety net.
