Yesterday the world waited in anticipation for a new announcement from CBS about the Rather-gate Story.

They announced in the morning, that the announcement would come at noon.
Talk about building up the anticipation!

Then at noon they announced that the announcement would come at 3:30. Rush Limbaugh claimed credit, saying, "They wanted to wait until I was off the air."

Meanwhile the world waited!

Turns out it was neither.

Would everyone here be so nonchalant about this fraudulent "news" story if it had attacked John Kerry instead of Bush?

 

Bah, most everyone here complains about fradulant news stories that are all over the damn place. There are some in everyone' favor, some against everyone.

What I want to know (and what seems funny to me) is that us "liberals" are attacking the press all the time for their bias and lies - then we have to hear about it from conservatives (we're all conspircy theorists, ya know). But the minute Dubya gets attacked conservatives now have a problem with the media.

 

Have you honestly never heard conservatives complain about liberal bias in the mainstream media before? Why do you think that talk radio has become so popular?

 

CBS should just wait until Friday evening at 7pm to post bad news, much the way Bush always does.

 

Yeh, your're right. The news in general is just a shame. Too much bias everywhere. I like to hear the facts, without opinion and bias twisted in. Nowadays you never really know when you are getting that.

But regardless, good for CBS for airing the peice. Our news stations seem to be getting less and less scared to report against Bush since the 9/11 attacks. I remember right after the attack you wouldn't ever see bush with anything but a halo over his head.

 

People are fools for even bothering with any of this. While I'm not a Kerry supporter, those who DO want Kerry elected have MORE THAN ENOUGH ammo to destroy the president. He's sent millions into poverty, destroyed jobs, shit on the environment, fucked the schools, underfunded AIDS, handed the entire budget surplus to a bunch of multi-millionaires, stripped us of our rights with the Patriot Act, unleashed warlords in Afghanistan and oh, yeah, made up a complete and utter LIE to force an illegal invasion of Iraq that has the entire planet despising us, is wasting hundreds of billions of dollars, and that (gee, what a suprise) is making his dad, The Carlyle Group, and Halliburton BILLIONS while it has cost over 1000 saps their lives - not to mention the nearly TWELVE THOUSAND innocent Iraqis who have been slaughtered.

Who CARES about this? We all know that Bush was a draft-dodging elitist bastard. And he's even worse now. I don't give a rat's ass what Dan Rather said or didn't say or whatever. Blah blah blah. Smoke and mirrors.

If for no other reason, we should vote for John Kerry to boot Bush's ass out! I did not vote for Kerry in the primaries but I know that now is the time for Liberals to unite.

Who the fuck is in charge?! Who controls the all three branches of government?! The republicans are in charge of everything now. Who else can they blame?! Dan Rather?!!!
I think anyone who is not a mindless ditto head can see that.

 

One thing I'd like to point out: Those tapes that Linda tripp made of monica Lewinsky were all illegally made and non admissable in court. Why, you ask? Because, Lewinsky lived in a two party state, which means that if you are going to record a telephone conversation, both parties participating have to know that it is being recorded. So, basically, had the proceedings been carried out in a legal fashion, rather than a witch-hunt fashion, clinton would have been cleared of all that shit.

 

Of course they're saps - or they were poor saps, till they got slaughtered like pigs for absolutely nothing.

Anyone who signs up to kill for the ruling elite is a sap. They might even have a "good reason" - like living in one of the many rural towns completely decimated by outsourcing of jobs and having few other options, since most of them received pathetic substandard education as well. The ones who actually believe they are volunteering to die "for their country" are the biggest saps of all - it's become glaringly obvious what they're dying for, and it sure as hell ain't most of the people in this country - or most of the people of the world. What they're dying for is to preserve the wealth and power of approximately 5% of the world's population - the filthy ruling elite bastards who brainwashed them into poor saps in the first place.

Why is it that FOXNEWS can lie and lie and misrepresent day after day, and nothing is said, yet this thing is made into a Federal Case?
