Hiya all. I think I live in one of the coolest places on earth. I see seals and amazing birds most days on my way to the day-job. Sometimes the sea is calm, sometimes it rears up and comes in my house (see gallery).

This place suits me, being near to nature, but would drive some people up the wall!

Just wondering if anyone else considers their place cool, urban-industrial or quiet rural?

I live in the middle of nowhere next to a farm, definitely very quiet and rural....

i guess the area i live in is sort of urban-industrial.
we live around the corner from an industrial estate.

don't know if i i'd call it 'cool' unfortunately. except maybe in winter. ;)

Meh here its all very fancy, and is mostly pleasant with trees and birds and squirrels and the like. A strange mix of briefcase-carrying people and the odd chav...Its still not what id call natural (way too many cars and too much concrete for that) but i have to say i think for me its the best place in Britain to live...best place ive visited so far, anyway, and ive travelled the island a fair bit
Only problem is the floods and rain  bring your plastic boats if coming down this way
Oh and everythings so expensive because the place won a bloody Britain in Bloom prize once about 5 years ago or something, and everythings called spa this and spa that, although ive yet to see these spas

Y`know it, most people dont notice whats around them. Brain starts to filter out the common factors, even if they are the good ones. The other thing Ive discovered is that if you want to feel lost, go to a city not somewhere isolated!

I live in something of a suburban hole but cycle 7.5 miles and you're right in the middle of the South Downs, beautiful rolling downland as far as the eye can see:)

Smack bang in the middle of town here, although there's a lot more green than I'm used to seeing in other big cities around the world!

Too many chavs and teen pregnancies, lots of greabos tho too... And lots of wanna be gangstas and i would say they are the main 3 groups. Apparently we have tje highest teen pregnancie rate in Britain bt im not sure if thats true... Hm.... I plan to move though. I love this place for my friends...

Maybe home is where your friends are. People are more important than property. As for chavs, gangstas and so on, its sometimes fun to be an observer. Set yourself apart.

On the other hand, one of our 'grownup' sons, who lived in a city, came up to join us here, because he was fed up with having his bike stolen five times in five months.

i love my house - well my parent's - 30 seconds walk and you're in the woods, five minutes and you're on the beach, three in another direction and you're surrounded by park. less than 10 minutes from town centre. exactly opposite a pub. perfect location if you ask me :)

Well, my student house is right in the middle of a city. But the city's Cambridge, so it's not so bad, quite a few parks and a distinct lack of chavs.
Home is on the outskirts of a small village, so yeah it's rural. Not isolated (which would be ideal for me.. guess I'm just an agoraphobe) but not crowded either.

Yeh, my student house is also in the middle of a city, but its quite a small city too. There is a huge hill about an hours walk away that overlooks the whole city, with the most gorgeous views; during the summer i love walking up there and sitting at the very top, underneath a particular tree, lighting up a doob and just relaxing with my music and a book or work. But as for the actual city, we barely get any trouble, and everyone is really open minded. I've completely fallen in love with it.

I hate where I live, its a place where 'town meets country', but the countryside is sooo boring round here! I'd love to own some land deep in the countryside, probably the peak district or cornwall and hold raves on it!
