The author of this piece of literary work posted the URL in another forum I participated in some. I thought it was excellent. If you "younguns" want a feel for "the good old days" of "hippiedom", read this. My fellow "old folks" should be interested in it as well. http://presidiotex.com/tawapa/tawapa.html Wild_Bob
i remember "magic of findhorn" and the foxfire books. my dad was into those, along with tolkin's fantasies. yes there are lots of different good, bad and indifferent ways of doing cooperative comunities. i lived for a while on a place called bed spring acres. =^^= .../\...
My late husband was a several-episode short-term member of the commune. He left there in 1970, we returned in 2000 and met with Bruce of the Stars, the astrologer. When my husband was dying in 2005, I took him back there once more to meet with Bruce. Unfortunately, Bruce was so high he was no longer aware. My husband told many interesting stories, most probably allegorical. I took notes, and I am working on writing it all down. Your observations on the social causes intrigue me. I am afraid that most of the information I have about the commune life is either humorous or related to the drug activity. You helped remind me of Cleo, and other characters he mentioned. I will continue to read your commentary to help me with my chronicles. They called my husband Toomba, not sure of the spelling, but I do know that was what Bruce called him immediately after thirty years of absence. I would like to keep in touch. Virginia Chappell
