I think about selling my homes, land business and such and moving to South America. Get a nice little place close to the beach and retire.
Beach was an okay film. I'm going to Phuket for a while next year. Not that part of the country, but still tropical beach paradise Thailand. Anyway, yeah, that does sound perfect. Sippin' on margaritas and just relaxing, getting in tune with nature and myself for a while. Perfection.
Colombia is the best place in South America. Despite its bad reputation. Stay out of the bad areas of Bogota and the outlying rebel strongholds and you will be fine. The kidnappers are only interested in people working for large corporations and large money. I have talked to the rebels, they were nice to me. Lots of great areas with beaches. Weed is good, girls are hot. Best speak Spanish though. You can live down there quite reasonably.
you'd have a better chance of convincing me if there was a destination. otherwise we'll probably end up in a meijer's in detroit or something random like that
Sounds great. I'd love to be on a tropical island right now. I don't smoke, but otherwise everything sounds wonderful. Like a beautiful dream. It's so cold here now.
Actually, I do that all the time. I have found some really beautiful tropical islands that are not spoiled by mass tourism yet, so everyone is invited to come with me and spoil my tropical gems.
mountains and forrests and little narrow gauge trains appeal to me. cocktails, joints, and sitting arround in opressively warm climates does not. sitting here in front of this thing gives me more gratification then that. i do, or did, like to travell, but i don't have houses or anything else to sell to go on them. you go ahead and enjoy though, and if you find anything interesting to take a picture of, i'll be interested in seeing it. some things i know, you can't really take a picture of the feelings and experiences involved. like making friends with some kind of little furry creature no one has ever heard of, or helping someone build a shelter in some way you've never seen or heard of anyone doing. or even the feeling of some sort of vehicule moving under you, preferably one that is not too much tearing up the countryside you're going there to enjoy. the riding, the scenery going by, that is the adventure. that is the trip. not sitting some place. no matter how exotic a place might be to your previous experience, sit any place long enough and it just becomes the place you are already sitting. =^^= .../\...
But thats simply what you feel subjectively.. anything you choose to do is just experience for the senses... some people like the un-changing sense of a hot beach and nice drinks. I know what you mean though.. a journey/traveling is a good experience.. when your constantly experiencing new things and always on the move.
oh absolutely true, and i'm not suggesting everyone should like the same things as me or each other. although that's just the point. that one particular set of things is being presumed to be something everyone is supposed to like. just because its not the same as the on i like doesn't make it any less of an arbitrary imposition as if it were. nor, i'm sorry, but i just don't see sitting arround at some 'destination' as being, or having diddly to do with, travel adventure, which also seemed to be being implied. =^^= .../\...
