big deal. doing a 14 year old is wrong, simply for the fact that someone that age is impressionable. but its just some guy who did something morally reprehensible. he didnt hold some kid down and rape him or anything like that. i should also point out that these stings have the 'kids' acting like they want to have sex. if someone who's way older manipulates a teenager into doing something, yes they deserve to be punished.
someone who has sex with 5,8, 10 year old kids is a pedophile and deserves a lengthy sentence.

If you see the end of the video, he's back at it less than 24 hours later. I wouldn't have SUCH a problem if he just left it at that and never was seen again, but they bust him the next day. AGAIN.

 

But the thing is, the concept of a 14 year old being counted as pedophilia isn't some sort of absolute truth, its just something that we as a society have made up. 1000 years ago it wasn't uncommon for people to be married and plopping out babies at that age, so underground, I really don't think it would be reasonable for you to get banned for something like that, and i agree with you 100%, that although what happened may not have been proper, its not as horrible as Twizz made it out to be.

Not so long ago (less than a 100 years), a girl was considered past her prime and an old maid if she hadn't married by 18. Seriously. You were middle-aged at 18.

What I'm saying is you can't change the way things are, irregardless of the laws passed to control it. Adults and kids will ALWAYS have sex, just as they ALWAYS have. Its more natural than "moral" people are willing to admit.

You smoke pot. It's 100% illegal but you do it anyway. It makes one a poor judge for others who willingly transgress the law for their own reasons.

Human predators are certainly a problem. No denying this. But consentual sex between adults and minors is really more normal than not. It is conditioning that creates the idea that it's unnatural. Often based out of religious belief.

Yeah people take chat with minors wayyy too far, but like someone said, it's been going on forever. Yeah it would be great to stop that shit, especially if the kid is forced or videotaped or anything like that. However, we are not the all-powerful being and cant control everything that goes on. That kind of attitude only poisons who you are as a person. It does nothing to change things.

In this case, the best defence is knowledge. A child educated about the dangers of predatory people are less likely to ever have an encounter with one of them.

Yo, yeah predators are scum. But honestly, a lot of people use the peder-asses horrible behavior as an enabler to revert to horrible violent threats that will seemingly go unchallenged by the majority of people because most people feel it's ok since that person is already doing something immoral.

It's a vicious cycle.

 

I've heard a few people in this thread say something to the effect of "morals aren't absolute", and who are we to say it's wrong since "for a thousand years it was the norm".

To those people I ask, how do you feel about human/civil rights, and slavery? Who are YOU to say it's wrong for me to have black slaves, and whip the skin off their backs because it makes them work harder? Who's to say that the civil rights movement was justified if there is no absolute right or wrong?
