Chances are a revolution would allow outside interests to take control. For now I'll stick to voting.

Noticed you live in Raleigh. I live in Holly Springs/Apex. Whereabouts do you live or PM me if you'd rather.

the only way there would ever be another revolution is if, imo, they reinstated the draft. people are too lazy or just dont care about their rights enough to do something about it anymore. and theres not enough of the people who do want to do something about it to make a difference

For a revolution to start it would take a huge number of people to drastically change the way they think. This requires quite a spark, but the world is on fire today. Personally I am prepared for anything. This time tomorrow I could be hundreds of miles away from any other human being with the ability to live for decades. If revolution starts, I will be at the spearhead of the effort.

depends on the reason for the movement. Revitalizing living life passionately, and with a sense of responsibility for your actions, sure. Something less relevant to the overall improvement of society, no.

people dont have the power like they used to

the government would be able to out-muscle anything the private sector could throw at them, aka, Revolutions and revolts dont work in the modern era

Large-scale open revolutions with open conflicts with the governments don't work very well anymore. To make it work you would need widespread secrtariet (sp?) violence across the nation. Modern techonology and modern combat techniques are all very well thought through, but all of them have a weak point. Revolution can work, but you have to be smarter about it than they are.

get 5 nuke heads, launch one into syberia, one into nevada dessert, one into pacific ocean. then ask demands and threaten the other 2 are heading for moscow and new york. but you would need alot of effort, work on the inside, planning and everything.

I'd join almost no matter what. I am of course aware that it would never work unless it was done properly, but I'd rather die fighting for real freedom, then sit back and then end up being under government control the rest of my life. Its a better alternative than suicide, which I would consider if I can't get out of the country after it becomes socialist or what have you.
It's not that hard. Just take out a few special people, and everyone would panic, then you could slowly work your way down. Simultaneous assassinations of many of the military leaders and as many high people as we can get. When they're panicking trying to find out who should be in command, we would have the upper hand for a short while, and if we did enough damage in that time(Taking care of the large armies against us) then atleast SOMETHING would change.
It IS tougher in the modern world to win a revolution, but it is also easier. The more technology they have, the more they depend on. All we need to do is take that away.

Of course, I'm 16, so I may just not be aware of what ACTUALLY has to happen in a revolution besides taking the people controlling us down.
Surely there would be attacks from other countries seeing our weakness.
A revolution may not be beneficial, because with all the shit we're in now, I'm sure many countries would jump at the opprotunity of America when we have no government at the time

I agree with the above poster. If it doesnt actually work and we the people dont win. At least we tried.

One of my favorite quotes other than the one in my sig is

"Better to die quick fighting on your feet than to live forever living on your knees" (not sure who actually said it but I took if from a lamb of god song)

I'd hide in the mountains with a large crop of marijuana and have nothing to do with a revolution.. the government would pulverize us instantly... fuckers
