What is the oddest thing your dog has ever eaten?

Yesterday, mine ate an entire can of powdered instant coffee. Oh, and the plastic lid. The day before that, she ate a ball of aluminum foil. She has totally consumed at least 8 shoes the remains of which are now in the back yard. As well as numerous pairs of socks, underwear, screws (don't even ask I don't know) pounds upon pounds of chocolate, entire cakes, dozens of cookies, all of this within the last 3 - 4 weeks. I can't believe this fucker isn't dead.

 

She is in touch with what she wants... thats all

I had a dog that shitted in the grass right in front of me on the other side of the fence... and then licked up his juicy shit.... wow was that nasty... ugh. The dog ended up hoppin the fence and gettin hit by a car, btw.

 

Thats about the only good thing about this dog, she has never eaten her own shit. I've had several dogs in the past that did it all the time. But this one doesn't. However, she does frequently (not anymore because we had to lock it up ) pull dirty shitty diapers from the trash can and pretty much eat everything.

 

Why do dogs eat their own crap?

 

^ They are actually recycling. There are still nutrients left in their feces..so oddly enough they get nutritional value from it.

I don't have a dog anymore but when I did she once ate a rubberband, and it got stuck halfway when she tried to pass it. I had to help her, it was kind of sad. Gross too.

 

^^^this is where I draw the line. If thats her problem, shes gonna have to figure it out for herself.

I just peed and came out to Murphy bringing me a chewed up easter card...

 

A few years back I caught my sisters German Shepherd taking glass ornaments from the tree and chewing them up. It's more than likely she injested a few shards.

More recently, my German Shepherd pup - Heinrich - has begun his destructive phase.. So everything is fair game for him to chew up and eat. God only knows all the stuff he's tore up and eaten. I haven't caught him eating anything odd lately.. but He has been tearing the stuffins out of his toys. Ripping eyeballs out, beheading his dolls, etc etc. But, thank god he hasn't taken to eating rope or paper like my sisters dog did. ​

 

The one thing my dog hasn't eaten (or at least to my knowledge, the shit is everywhere here) is my weed. I know she's caught a couple buzzes with me, but I tend to not do that much because she always ends up eating more afterwards

 

I don't have a dog, but my cat eats those stickers they put on large items at the grocery check-out...her poop had florescent orange bits in it...

 

well a dog my family kept until her death would eat jalapenos if you let her....liked them a lot, but then thats not too wierd to me cause i like them too. also, my dad once gave her a piece of bubble gum (i forget the specific brand, but it was the pink kind that comes in a small ball wrapped in paper) and she walked around for an hour or more chomping on it trying to get it ready to swallow. i felt bad for her caue it obviously tasted good too her but wasnt meant to be eaten...i couldnt take it away or she would get mad, but letting her eat it was bad, too. oh well.....

these two arent so bad as some of the things people before me have said, though. but its true the get some nutrition from eating excrement, though it's about as gross as anything.

 

I don't have a dog, but the dog belonging to my neighbors enjoys eating cat food (like Whiskas) and bad smelling cheese...

 

cat food? thats nothin. a buddy's old dog used to eat cat shit.

it is really odd but once he ate his own shit. i dont know what he was thinkin'. mabye he was thinkin his shit was food, hell if i know but it was pretty odd.

 

there is always chewed up gum in my yard, and when we let the dog out, she'll run around and find the gum, and chew it just like a human would. she doesn't even swallow it. lol
