calhoun is just a small part of his district,, probably only a quarter or so of voters in his district, but i imagine the demographics dont change much factoring in the extra people.. the way they have his district cut out of pieces of 2 countys,i dunno how ya could figure that one out exactly.. i didnt see anything on the H.O.R. page..
I agree with Skip, appeal to the young population. Just remember that this is a local election. Stick only to local issues. Don't let anyone sway you on taking positions on global matters. Completely ignore controversial issues such as foreign policy, abortion, and so on. Insist that those are not local issues and therefore irrelevant. Taking a position on something like that will guarantee that you'll loose some votes. Also remember that most of the young people in your town are probably closer to good ol' boys than to hipsters... so you have to appeal to them in a slightly more moderate way.
Ha ha... yeah that would be cool to have a small town full of HF'ers.... Too bad there are more meth heads than stoners around here. I don't think it would look too good to have a "meth" constituency. I think BSR is right. Sticking to local/state issues will be better for my campaign than talking national issues. Too many red state rednecks around here. I need to concentrate on the working man's needs and keeping our State park and county beautiful.
Lots of scary meth heads around here too. It's about equal: meth heads vs stoners... And this is Nor Cal... imagine how many meth heads that means... And how many new meth heads did the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan create? (not to mention junkies). Hopefully the cool soldiers are smokin' some fine black afghani...
