I was wondering how I could possibly begin growing shrooms with the most cost effective way without drawing any attention from my parents. Any info on growing apparatus, prime conditions, easiest to obtain/grow strains, when to harvest, reputable sources, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Buy a grow kit, It'll teach you everything. However, I would not consider undergoing such a thing in your parents house. They reek. Alot.
grow them in the woods if you have any nearby your house. that way you don't have to worry about their smell, and you can't get caught cause they won't be on your property. also they grow pretty well in natural conditions.
Or if you want to be adventurous, you could try to do everything yourself =O This is an excellent mushroom growing guide that I found on Erowid, that teaches you how to create, sanatize and inoculate your own substrate, and then how to shock the substrate into fruition once you've placed it in its terrarium.
