from experiance ketamine and heroin, by far the worst drugs far as getting a habit and quiting.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you add up the totals here's how they came in: 1.Heroin 2.Alcohol 3.Nicotine (tie) 3.Cocaine (tie) 5.Caffeine (tie) 5.Marijuana (tie)
i'm guessing they selected those drugs to represent each class of drugs....but i wonder how meth would compare to heroin.
I think it takes slightly longer to get addicted. Though the rest of the numbers would be similar. Here's my guess: 1.Heroin 2.Meth 3.Alcohol 4.Nicotine (tie) 4.Cocaine (tie) 6.Caffeine (tie) 6.Marijuana (tie)
The Harris Ratings are as follows: 1) nicotine 2) alcohol 3) cocaine/methamphetamine (tie) 4) heroin 5) caffeine 6) marijuana Availabilty (alcohol, nicotine) was factored into this study.
this is a funny question, because people respond differently to a chemical stimulus. by sheer population numbers, I'd say it's alcohol and nicotine. I've seen those ratings reports in previous years, and the 4th and 5th ratings frequently change. caffeine used to not be up there, but MDMA was.
I dont think weed is very addictive I just like to smoke alot, but from experience of drugs I have done, and how much I have used them I would say: 1 nicotine 2 caffeine(not hard to break imo) 3 any speed(I have only done coke and Ritalin) 4 alcohol
That was interesting, and I was kinda shocked by some of the ratings. Is really the withdrawal from alcohol worse than the withdrawal from heroin ? The reinforcement of cocaine being rated as 1 sounds accurate to me, I dont know in comparison to heroin, but coke to me was always the kind of drug that makes you go in your mind, "it's ok, it's there, just one line" and one line became 10.
for me it's ecstasy (right below ciggies), I have dabbled with cocaine, never felt the need to continue same thing with opiate based pk's and other pharmeceuticals. Could it just be the speed in the shitty pills of this day and age that make me have that craving?
As far as immediate short term, as soon as the drug is gone, addiction = Cocaine (in any form) and Methaphetamine. Long Term, physical withrdawal = Heroin. I can't speak for alcohol because i have no experience, with myself or thrugh anyone i know personally with the withdrawal effects. I know that alcohol is the only drug where the actual withdrawals themselves can kill you, even if the drug itself does not.
Benzos are cool because you almost never get recreationally addicted, the tolerance builds so fast. after two days in a row of using a low dosage, I cant get high on them for a few days. You just dont here of people getting addicted to them, unless they take them everyday to sleep, or something like that. So, theyre super addictive, but there is little chance of dependence. Cool.
alcohol withdrawals?? wtf? i've had quite a bit of experience w/ alcohol, and every once in a while i quit for 6 months or so & i've never experienced any withdrawals whatsoever
well you are most likely not an alcoholic. i agree with the harris rating scale, finally something intelligent. maybe alcohol and the speed should be starred, since the desire to further consume following a drinking session is apt to be far less than that after stimulant consumption. the long term consequences of alcohol is different but equally severe as a stimulant junkie. of course it does depend very much on frequency and dosing of substance. I hold that there is a difference between withdrawls and cravings for alcohol. For opiates i think that that difference is less distinct. some people do get hooked on the pot but when they do stop any withdrawl symptoms are very minute, tobacco smokers generally have a far harder time stopping then pot smokers
well from what i know the tolerance to ecstasy is rapid and fairly strong. and a hangover, albeit less severe than with heavy drinking or amphetamines/MA. so yea thats kinda in a gray area. lots of factors come into play. things like how much fun it was, neurotransmitter levels, . Do you mean that youve had better MD in the past and now it leaves something to be desired? but yea if it was cut with speed or cocaine it is logical that would lead to greater cravings. sucks not to know. thats perhaps is the most dangerous aspect of the prohibition virus, and that is that no one knows with high confidence the contents/purity/quality and amount.
Bullshit. lol I got physically addicted to xanax within 4 days one time. Of course, I was taking 15-30mg per day for those 4 days, so I guess it makes sense. Also, I've been recreationally addicted to them for a LONG time.
