I saw it last night. It was 4th time. And it's getting better every time. I tihnk this is the best story, and it's cartoon. What can be better...
It's a little confusing ( since I never watched the Matrix ). But what caught my attention was that it was done in different art styles...NOW THAT really confused me. What I got out of it is : The seconed rainecance, where the machines turn on people, and start constructing their own kingdom.They started having war, because they were abused by humanity. And there are these things that happen to people, usually assassening people and stuff like that which is controlled by robots and such. Am I right? If not, somebody correct me! LIKE I SAID, I NEVER WATCHED THE MATRIX. I watched this movie/series whatever you call it on cartoon network once.(at night X.X)
I liked "Final Flight of the Osiris", although didn't think the opening sequence was really necessary. "The 2nd Renaissance" was brilliant, but sadly too short, I would have loved to see more. "Kid's Story" did alot to flesh out the character of Martin Popper, I thought it was very well done. I though "Program" was a little poor. "World Record" wasn't too bad, the agents looked alot more sinister than any of their other incarnations. "Beyond" was an interesting concept. "Detective Story" is my favourite Animatrix short, that detective was so cool. "Matriculated" was...interesting, and very wierd, but I didn't mind it. One thing I would really like to see if a 2nd Animatrix is done is what happens to Agents Jones and Brown? (Smith's cronies from the first movie) After Neo destroys Smith, the other two agents look at each other then run away, and are replaced by the "upgrades", Agents Johnson, Jackson and Thompson. I really liked Smith's character, especially what he becomes in "Reloaded" and "Revolutions", I thought an interesting Animatrix would be something to do with how Smith came back into the matrix after he exploded, as it would probably tie in with Jones and Brown. I had the idea that Jones and Brown,after seeing Neo destroy Smith so easily, probably took of their earplugs and went into hiding. Since Agents seem to come in threes, Smith probably found them and used them as the first two copies of himself. Just an idle rambling...
Matriculated and World record are the best parts because you can see entire human psyche, first inside the robot, and then inside human... Tha Second Renaisance is a great story. That's the way i think of Judgement day. Kid's story shows the way society threats people, even now. Beyond is a great trip.
There is a lot of the things in that movie. I didn't saw MATRIX but this is really good thing. You can find anything you like in just one movie.
