so i was wondering if people have watched people actually dying in everyday situations (not war and things like that).

i myself have been eating dinner 10 floors up and seen someone fly past the window, commiting suicide. ive seen 3 or 4 people get hit by cars and die including one elderly woman. not to mention ive watched my fair shair of family members in hospitals ect ect.

why i was wondering is because it seems like ive seen alo of death compared to other people ive met so i was wondering some other peoples personal experience with death

2 times that i remember. cancer related complications when i was about 6, and a phenobarbitol OD when i was about 20. I knew both people. Not really close though. The latter was much more disturbing since i knew what was going on. oh yeah and that kid i saw OD at Bonnaroo this year.

Yes, when you get as old as I am, either you are self absorbed or you have been there. It's made a difference to me. I don't sweat the small stuff any more...it's simply not important.

And Hippieatheart, when you love someone, or a pet, it's the most important role you can play...to be there, to not let them die alone. It won't harm you. It's part of life. We all die and if we are connected to one another, then we should be there with each other. No one should die alone.

You won't be scarred for life. I was scarred more by being forced to view my dead grandmother's body after the fact. She wasn't there it wasn't her. I wasn't allowed to visit her in the hospital before. I was too young, but I was supposed to view a dead body without preparation...go figure.

But since I've been there when people and animals cross over, or die what ever you believe in. It's been easier to understand. And I've never regretted being there.

What it brings home is there are no do overs, no ctr z s. It's final, it's the truly the last goodby. And in that it's the most important goodby you'll ever take part in.

    ^ damn, me too.
Except most of the time I come back to one person and explain that I faked it or just fuck with their heads.

I suppose everyone has fantasies of witnessing your own funeral and see how the world goes on without them. It was a literary device used by Twain because of his interest in that particular interest. It's part of the human experience to wonder about the what the world would be like without you.

No, so far I've not seen anyone die before my eyes. I am thankful for it.

iN a resturant in the after noon in my home town.. It was definetly "his time" -(best way to describe..) Interesting question. I've only seen one person die. Not so hard to believe that people don't die, and that somthing else is happening/

Well I saw a man dying. Or he could have been dead already I guess.
It was in town and the guy was part of a construction crew or something, and a heavy load fell off the cherry picker on to him. He was in the middle of the road but there was so much blood it was running into the gutter.
I was a few meters away so it wasn't like up close and personal or anything but the blood really got me ay. That and the fact that his workmates were all standing around looking kinda lost and frightened while the paramedics were working on him. It was really sad. I was just standing there and like really hoping that he'd be ok.
I think I read in the paper that he had a couple of kids which is sad

I've seen people THINK they were dying because they were so fucked up on drugs...

But other than that, I saw my grandma die when I was younger but I'm pretty sure I was closing my eyes for most of it, or I just don't remember it.

I saw an old decrepit woman having a heart attack on the ground at Kmart. It was glorious.
