I think a third option "other... discuss" should be added. For the most part marijuana is a mild drug but with some individuals and in some situations it can have some serious effects.
in my opinion, and from personal experience, marijuana has been a mild drug for me and has not caused any dangerous/outrageous effects on my life or the way i think. i mean i do think differently when i'm stoned, maybe think deeper but nothing to change the way i live/think. to some people though, marijuana can be a very strong drug and can effect the way they live/think/act. i used to think that everyone acted the same when they were stoned.. i thought everyone just laughed and had a good time getting high, but as my knowledge grew of weed, i realized some people get anxiety/panic attacks while stoned and don't have such a good time.
Hmmm, i don't get panic attacks really.. but when i smoke in the park at night (which is often) my mind completely goes wild.. the combination of not being able to see everything around me (due to the dark) and being high just completely makes me lose it. I think setting has an awful lot to do with the intensity of a high.
And rightly so... I was reacting off the "use the poll" instruction in your original post; from my perspective the poll doesn't provide for enough variation in opinion Your poll though, and certainly a worthwhile discussion.
Marijuana has been very mild for me. Only time I notice a difference on how it has an affect on my life, is when I am high.
I have high tolerance for other drugs. It takes a lot to get me really drunk, and cocaine has very little effect on me. But Marijuana gets me quick and keeps me. In a good way. I think it also depends on how often you smoke it and what kind you're smoking. I remember this 8th that I bought once...it made me really twitchy and jerky and completely out of it. I felt like I had tourettes or something. I smoked it again with a friend, and she said that it gave her kind of a scary high too. Most other weed gives me a really good high though. It just depends on when, where, and what you smoke.
Weed can have some pretty big effects. Some stuff I recently had(the same as my trippy stuff if you read that post[and that situation probably makes my point better]) made me shift from side to side everytime I smoked it. As I shifted it was as if certain height ranges of my body were blocks and the shifts were a sudden change in position and angle of the blocks. This all occurred in parallel with the rest of my massive high. So depending on tolerance, type of weed, and the specific person, weed can be quite high on the mind altering scale.
#1, allthough pot can be very harmfull, maybe not so physically but mentally very much. it depends on timing and personallity in general. it is a very powerfull thing, it changes the way we think, it can change you life - it has mine multiple times =)
Maybe not...I've done it on 3 different occasions. First time I just got really relaxed and felt kind of floaty. 2nd time I was really upbeat and hyper, 3rd time I was really horny and kept on messing with stuff in the car (radio, glove box, ect), then I smoked a bowl and it evened me out. Maybe I didn't do enough...I did 3 decent sized lines last time I tried it. I just didn't experience the head change like I do with weed. Didn't impress me. I prefer weed...haha, pot is my antidrug.
Marijuana has always been pretty mild, but still my favorite and most fun drug. When you first start smoking you tend to get more "fucked up", but when you smoke regularly you just get kinda stoned and not really messed up. It's like the overall felling of the high changes.
Everyone reacts differently to any substance or stimuli. Therefore I think it's inaccurate to say "Marijuana is strong" because it depends on so many variables you only end up with a stereotype as an answer. Either you think it is strong, or you think it's weak, but that leaves no room for the variable of different reactions in people. To me marijuana is a fairly weak drug, because of age, tolerance, and just gaining more control of my mind. It has effects on me, but they aren't as overwhelming as they have been when I first started. Even then it wasn't that intense, it has gotten really intense before, that's why I think that Marijuana can be strong shit, but most of the time it isn't. I've seen people freak out, that's how I know that it is strong to some. Personally I've never had that happen so I can't really use my experiences as reason against everyone elses.
it used to be wildly potent way back when, but even the good shit doesn't get me close these days. ho hum.
For those who are extremely aware of how their mind changes, drugs are extremely potent. Just from different times in the day, or situations of stress, cups of coffee, darkness, light, I feel every change of perception, may it be a toke of dope or barely 1g of shrooms, you bet your ass I'll be able to trip out just from being extremely aware of how things change the way I perceive things. Yet, I am extremely introverted, even in my extroverted times, I always got an eye on my mind.
I think the setting really affects the high. And whoever you smoke with I suppose. It's always more fun with others for me. Like 4 or 5 people and you're set. On 420 last year we had a friend smoke with the 3 of us and she freaked the fuck out worse then anyone I have ever seen on any drug ever. Not an exaggeration. For the 2 hours after we smoked she was crying and pacing around wildly and calling people and just freaking out ridiculously. We couldn't calm her down or anything. Then she just starts making out with her ex (who has been one of my friends for a long time) and it was just a messed up night. I was tripping on DXM. I was just like "err, there's nothing I can do. I'm gonna go wander around now" It also really depends on the strain or preparation. Some weed will just get you high from like 2 bowls. Some will send you to the next dimension.
