Anyone else into this sort of stuff?
I just downloaded gimp and I suck at it but its really fun to play around with, especially high. so many tools and possibilities.

Post cool stuff you've made and leave tips about how to do certain effects and stuff.

I hadn't heard of gimp, but I just looked it up and it seems pretty interesting. I work a lot with photoshop (as well as flash and after effects). I'll def. play around with this.

I grew up using photoshop. I could make some pretty neat stuff on there as well as edit pictures pretty well. About a year ago I switched to mac when my PC got eaten alive by a virus and haven't been able to move photoshop over to this computer. I don't feel like paying for photoshop again either.
I used fireworks to make little animated gifs and things and then moved on to flash.

Now I don't even have paint, so I'm a little bummed.

GIMP is perfect if you just want it for home use. The only real reason you would need photoshop would be if you were putting out a print publication or something of that nature. And I believe in the near future, GIMP will support CMYK so it will be just as damn good as photoshop (and a hell of a lot cheaper hehe).

    ^ that stuff's easy..

I used to know photoshop like the back of my hand, but like any art form it requires practice to continue to be good with it, blending and other things are key
