wish to save on tea bags tetley is becomig to expensive so can i make my own tea out of plant leaves please help me dying for a brewxxx
Does this thread being made here mean you are looking for a tea recipe that includes marijuana? I'd just google for homemade tea recipes. Meanwhile I'll see if there's a forum here where you'll be more likely to encounter folks with tea making experience...
beeing mad on the point of insanity, yes it is me serrial yeh! Now can anybody stop the bullshit and tell me how to make a weedy tea?
Stop what bullshit? Unfortunately I can't help with the tea. My google suggestion is what I'd likely do if I wanted to learn how to make my own. Peace.
lol I thought this was going to be about real tea... I prefer coffee myself, but tea is nice once in awhile.. I've never had a "weed" tea. Hmm I bet it's good. I'm getting an eighth today sometime. My dealer was just here and he forgot my stuff!!!!! So he's coming back in a little while.
I thought it was about real tea myself. Complaining about the price of Tetley suggests to me that he's searching for a substitute. Complaining about "bullshit" responses suggests that he ought to try the weed tea to help roll with the posts that may be reflecting his not being 100% clear with exactly what he's looking for. [hijack]I can relate though... when I smoked regularly my tolerance for others' bullshit went way down and when I wasn't high the slightest inconvenience could set me off... big time. It's just one in a vast array of reasons I only smoke once in a GREAT while and will no longer buy it for myself. For its wonderful ability to relax me and help decompress from a stressful day the downside involved me using it as crutch and losing touch with coping strategies... helping to create the overload of stress I needed relief from.[/hijack] If the search nets a good tea recipe I'd be interested myself!
unfortunately the goodies in cannabis are not water soluble, and therefore come out in water with quite a lot of difficulty. however all is not lost. for instance, if you are familiar with a "chai tea latte" (just a fancy way of saying spiced tea made with milk) then you can find a way to get a cannabis laden beverage assuming you're up for a little extra work and don't have high hopes....when cooking with marijuana you must always be willing to live with it if you mess something up and just dont get as high as you like, or just fuck up the recipe and ruin your pot. but heres something i've done with MODERATE results. define proper dosages for yourself! now thc is not water soluble, but it WILL dissolve in fat. once in the fat, it will stay there. lucky for us potheads, there are a few types of dairy that are high in fat and will easily extract the THC and such from pot. the best of all is ghee, a type of butter used in eastern cooking that is so clarified as to be suitable even for deep frying. as i understand it, it doesnt even need to be kept cool as theres nothing in it that will go rancid, unlike normal butter. this is not commonly used by most cannabis enthusiasts, but would work best. next best is regular butter, and of course the substance it is made from - heavy cream. this is what is most important here....because heavy cream has all the fat of butter (or whipped cream, which is just short of being butter itself) AND despite being high enough in fat to get the cannabinoids out of marijuana, it CAN be mixed into water. so get out a thermometer and slowly, gently heat your heavy cream to 140-175*F (sorry, if you want it in celsius you can convert it yourself, i'm drinking and have taken the time to type this out but dont want to bother with looking it up) if you go beyond 180* then you are going to scald the cream, and it will taste bad. be careful not to get it too hot, and never ever boil it. a good idea if you dont have the means with which to steam it (the steaming wand on an espresso machine is perfect) then put the cream in a small pan and float that in a pot of boiling water. this means the element heating the cream is at 212*F, instead of the MUCH higher heat of the stove element. it will be slower to heat the cream, but you wont burn it and can more accurately follow the temperature increases. you want your pot ground up and in the cream for the duration of the heating process. get some spiced black tea. tazo chai teabags are just fine. chai concentrate will work, too, and requires no added sugar as it already has it included. make a double strength half mug of chai tea while waiting for the cream to heat up. once warm, let it sit and steep with the pot in it for a bit, extracting the goodness. after about 5 minutes or so, top off the extra strong chai with the now cannabinated heavy cream. drink and enjoy. its delicious. i've only tried it once and used middies when i did this, so i dont know if i didnt dose high enough or if the pot wasnt good enough or if i didnt steep it long enough, but i DID get an effect, thats for sure. it just didnt completely lay me out, which i was looking for to be honest. the way it works is the fat in the cream dissolves the THC. the THC is now mostly in the fat - very little in the pot. once there, it stays there and doesnt go back to the pot or anything. but despite being quite high in fact, the cream mixes just fine with water based beverages - like when you mix it into coffee or tea. it works just like that. the fat is still there, and since the fat is there and the THC is dissolved in the fat, even though its a more heavily water-based liquid now, it still has the THC in it! this may not be the best way of extracting it - i really cant say. i can't promise fireworks or anything. ALL I CAN SAY is that it is at LEAST somewhat effective. you'll have to play around with it if you want to find out for yourself, but dont be dissappointed if its not all you hoped for as for making pot tea with just water, forget it. it wont happen. THC wont dissolve in the water. there are ways to isolate the good stuff based on the fact that it DOESNT mix with water, but you wont be able to make a good weed tea with no dairy. (water can be used to make ice/bubble hash by soaking the pot in ice cold water, allowing the trichomes to become brittle and fall off, sinking to the bottom. they can be collected and compressed into hash once dried. you can also take a large quantity of pot and in a LARGE pot boil it for a few hours. you'll need a LOT. but boiling various plant sources often encourages their oils to seperate out and float to the top, where they can be skimmed off...its a primitive method, but works. the same -should- work for cannabis, in theory....this would be very, very potent if it works)
In the traditional Japanese tea ceremony called chanoyu, tea masters use the process of making and drinking tea to meditate on the principles of harmony (wa), respect (kei), purity (sei) and tranquility (jaku), hoping to integrate these ideals into daily life.
