Additional: Oasis are out of date and not really popular anymore. Their popularity peaked in the mid 90's with this so called Britpop. personally I just found their music to be a twisted form of the Beatles.

I actually like the beta band quite a bit:)and the levellers. The beatles are overrated imo but some songs are very, very cool indeed. I prefer the upbeat ones

I like Ultravox. He produced an album that had one side completely blank. What a plonker he really was.

Yeah, some good stuff is coming from the UK. It's a damned shame that Send More Paramedics split up though. They were some of the best until October 27.

Led Zepplin recently played a sold out gig, any1 know if they're getting back toghether, or was this a one off.

Also sex pistols now back together and playing live. not really my thing, but they play areally intense set.

I heard Led Zep were getting back together...but I'm not sure whether it was a rumour, if they play though I'd definately go and see them. The tickets would probably be really pricey though.

And it would be cool if the Sex Pistols came back but I don't know if they'd be as good as they were. The anarchistic stunts they pulled probably wouldn't shock people as much now.

No offence to anybody, and I don't wish war to continue but, is war necessary for music to progress? Or for everything?

No. To quote some hip-hop guy:
"War! Good god y'all, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing" or words to that effect.

a lot of the music we get comes direct from America anyway. Like Eminem, P Diddy, Cypress Hill and Beyonce. But as the old saying goes, We had the Beatles, America didn't.

Music has some of it's greatest because of the bounce between uk and usa. Classic blues from 1920's america gave 1960's britain some ideas and feel. Just an idea.

Some of the music in 2000 was quite revolutionary. i liked the garage scene and enjoyed on more than one occasion enjoyed Spiller. I was 18 at the time and felt as though Britain was on top of the charts when it came to music. try www.nowmusic.com for the latest developments on the three volumes of todays Britmericaneuropean music compilations.

Any love for the Coral? Nothing beats them for some nice, chilled music.

Ooh nice one, I used to love them, they seemed to kinda disappear off the map though.

Yeah, their new album, Teenager admittedly isn't near as good as so much for the city, so they kinda went off somewhere.
