I was just wondering that, as I was watching something on TV before and this baby wouldn't stop crying.. ..like when they're actually meant to cry, it's their "line" - baby cries because.. how do they get the baby to cry, do they hit them or something, I mean..?
i've wondered this also. seems kinda cruel to me. sometimes you can tell that its a tape recording though.
how unethical when you think about it. I mean they HAVE to do something unethical to get them to cry at the right time.
Maybe they don't change their diapers until they cry or something ... Or just keeping them away from their mommy for a little while might do the job as well. But babies cry very often so i don't believe you have to do something unethical to get them to shed tears..
I don't really care so much in fact not as much as what I care about what they do to animals to get them to do stuff.. which is somewhat fucked-up of me, I admit
If you give a toy to the baby and take it away it will cry so it is not hard at all, and you can train animals
keep in mind that if its a close up of a baby crying, it doesn't need to be filmed along with the rest of the scene. If you don't see the baby's face and just hear crying, the sound can just be added later.
Well, my dad's worked in a number of films and tv shows as a safety manager. He knows all the secrets. They punch 'em.
Half of the time, you can tell it's a doll in the scene, or a baby that isn't crying but you hear recorded crying. I agree with seamonster about filming the baby being filmed separately.
I'd be stressed out working with babies and really young kids.. poor things they probably cry cause they're stressed-out too.. I remember when I was like 3 I would get really upset around masses of other people - in fact I still do
Maybe they're not (all) very cruel. Maybe they just show the baby a toy and then don't give it to them...
pealing onions. that or just not stopping them. babbies have lots of reasons all their own for crying. i HOPE their not actually doing anythng freekey to them. i think there's laws about that. i haven't watched a movie movie in ages and i don't remember watching any in which there were babies crying, nor can i imagine wanting to watch one in which there would be any reason for babies crying to be part of the story. =^^= .../\...
eh i hate it in films when they have a baby who is obviously not crying and they just put crying baby sound file over the film and shoot angles that arent front on but you can still see the baby is not actually crying. id rather they hit it and make it cry for real.
i also love that every time someone sees a cat, it freaks out...i'd like to do a scene in a movie where the cat is obviously just sitting there and they do "The Cat Sound."
