The Naked Male body has been portrayed in Art for Millenium.

Expression through Art is 'theoretically' protected by the European Human Rights Act 1998 Article 10...but NOT from Cornwall Police!

The German NAZI burned books, destroyed Jewish Art & Culture. In Cornwall, in the United Kingdom the Cornish police are attempting to suppress Gay Art today.

The Devon & Cornwall Constabulary Chief Constable has repeatedly ignored complaints of his police officers HOMOPHOBIA, misconduct & abuse of gay persons.
...as has Devon & Cornwall POLICE Authority
...as has the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC)
...as has the Crown Prosecution Service
...as has the Criminal Justice Board

HOMOPHOBIA:- Thriving in the Institutions of Cornwall (UK)

There remains a deeply entrenched culture of HOMOPHOBIC attitudes & practises within the institutional authorities of Cornwall in the United Kingdom.

Do you have any more information about the censorship?

I've seen plenty of artwork depicting sexual acts or explicit nudity. Much of it could be confused as pornography by passersby (if its displayed in full view of the public,) and its a gallery director's job to be sure that the gallery doesn't break any municipal laws by displaying it in windows (in the US at least.)

I'm perplexed by your use of the words 'gay art,' could you define the Sistine Chapel ceiling as 'gay art' because Michaelangelo painted it? As a graduate student in art, I assume you aren't talking about all works made by gay artists, but works made by gay artists which depict nudity, and possibly photographic nudity. If that's the case, while the Cornwall Police may still be homophobic, the artists and galleries involved have a responsibility to defend the work in question. If their defense is substantial, a judicial system will reverse any actions taken by the police and protect the artists' rights (or at least it should in theory.)
