Hey! I am looking at moving to NC within the year, we have friends in Asheville and are leaning heavily toward that area, can anyone guide me towards a better spot or reinforce my first instinct that asheville area is the place to be? Thanks, ya'll can send me a pm if ya want... druid
me personally, I wouldnt want to live anywhere in this state except asheville or boone...though i do have friends who really like wilmington. come to think of it, asheville and boone are about the only places Id want to live in the entire south
come to asheville! i'm form jersey, too. i lived in asheville in 05/06 and am moving back in two weeks have you ever visited there? i knew that's where i wanted to be as soon as i first visited, so i bet that would help in your decision. good luck, let us know what you end up doing!

Perhaps it's a little late to post, but, definantly move to Asheville if you haven't already. I've lived here for quite a while and I've traveled everywhere in the U.S. Asheville's definantly the best place IN AMERICA (Boulder, CO comes close.)
anybody been in or around hickory, nc? i live in a little town called morganton, wich is about 25 min from hickory and 45 min from ashville. tracey
there is a place on the outer banks called Kill Devil Hills that is one of my top favorite cities in nc. if you've never been there i'd advise you check it out. beautiful place with plenty of hip folks.
