You've probably gotten rid of your headache by now but a lot of people are suffering this winter. Here's some tips 1. Saline spray - really soak the nasal passages with it, not just a little spritz 2. Netti pot - also use it to clean the sinus 3. Apple Cider Vinegar steam - put water and vinegar on stove and simmer. With a towel over your head inhale the steam - about 1/4 c ACV to a couple cups of water (precise measurement not needed) 4. Apple Cider Vinegar and honey - tbsp ACV in a small glass of warm water (about 1/2 cup) Add a tsp honey - sip until gone. This reduces the acidity of your body. Bacteria like acid. 5. Eat alkali producing foods - you can find lists on websites. Basically avoid meat, grains and dairy. 6. Once a day - Oil pulling - before eating in the morning swish a spoonful of oil around your mouth and pull it between your teeth for up to 20 minutes (minimum 5). DON'T swallow it. Spit it out when done - it will be white instead of gold. It holds a lot of toxins, virus and bacteria. Brush your teeth and tongue thoroughly. Coconut oil for virus, sesame for bacteria. There are forums that discuss this. 7. Digestive enzymes. The protein digesters peptidase, protease, etc can work on virus and bacteria. You should take a general digestive enzyme for a few days first to help your digestion, then take the protien enzymes between meals. There are also herbal formulas that will help. Many online stores carry them. If all the natural remedies don't get rid of it within a couple of weeks, you probably need to resort to antibiotics but then you really have to work to get your digestion back in order. Nedi pot and steam are really good. Sometimes laying down and taking a short nap can take a lot of pressure off of the sinuses. I do yoga headstands also sometimes it helps the stuff in my nose drain out of my sinus cavities. Sometimes if you stay away from milk and dairy products that can make your mucus thick it can help. My sinuses get bad when the air quality is bad, sometimes you can keep an eye on things like air quality and start to see a pattern in your headaches and figure out if something like bad air days is causing them to act up.
I have a really good cure, my mother suffers from really bad sinus problems too. Fill up a bowl with hot water an put a few drops of tea tree or eucalyptus oil in it. Then put a towel over your head and the bowl and inhale the fumes through your nose. Make sure the towel covers over the bowl, and make sure your head is under the towel so the fumes dont escape. Do this for around 20 mins, and it should relieve your headache.
what you can do is 1. use your thumbs to do 10 little gentle circles in the front of your nostrils on your nose. 2. do the same thing on the top of your nose by your eyes, ya know where everyone touches when they have a bad sinus headache? 3. behind your earlobes (remember bad boys II with will smith and martin lawrence where they went WUUUUSSAAAAHHH?) haha 4. on your earlobes that should make an immediate impact and you'll have some clear sinuss or atleast feel teh difference. sorry i can't explain it better.
