My favourite 80's band (and band of all time probably) is Guns N' Roses!
They're kinda a hate-em-or-love-em kind of band aren't they? If you like them you LOVE THEM and if you don't you HATE THEM!

They had the most amazing songs, and I love all members of the original band plus some of the others (e.g Gilby Clarke, Matt Surom...).

Slash did the best solos, and Axl had such a unique voice. And Duff was hot!

My favourite music came from the 80s. It was a great era :D Too bad I wasn't alive!!!

"Patience was written after Axl's child was born dead"

I've never heard this before, is it for real?

Hanoi Rocks was the best band of the decade by a wide margin. USA had a great indie scene at the time too... Minutemen, Replacements, Black Flag, Minor Threat etc etc

The 80's were the start of the decline of rock music in my honest opinion. I saw the Scorpions mentioned by many early on, but they did start in the 70's. As for my favorite 80's band, it was a band that was short lived, but I gotta say Quarterflash. Rindy Ross was very cute, she could play the saxophone very well, and she could sing so very well, and hubby Marv Ross was a pretty good guitar player as well.

Does anyone remember a band that was a one hit wonder of the 80's called Steel Breeze? I remember in 82 they came out with their only album, and had a hit with the song You Dont Want Me Anymore. Killer song. I saw them open for Kansas that year, and they were excellent live. Later on I bought the cd, and the one song is the only good song on there, in my opinion. Sure didnt match what I remember seeing live, but still, You Don't Want Me Anymore was a killer song.

Another band I am listening to now, actually their first album was released in 78, but they were primarily an 80's rock band as probably their most famous album was released in 1982, Worlds Apart by Saga.

I had that record (Worlds Apart). 'Tonight We're on the Loose' was a great tune.
