did you check for any bugs?
look in the soil closely before and after watering.

does the plant have proper drainage and not sitting in a pool of water?

actually it looks like your diffenbachia(?) is doing pretty well. leaf color is good and there's a bunch of new growth on the top. all plants shed leaves from time to time and a couple of brown ones is nothing to worry about. having said all that it does seem to need a little more humidity and i've got 2 suggestions. first trim off the dead leaves and toss them anywhere but in the pot. that's a no-no. then take a shower with it but try to keep the soap and shampoo off it. secondly mist the leaves occasionally which will also increase the humidity around it.

thanks zenloki ill try your suggestions and see how it does but the leaves do seem kind droopy at the bottom and they weren't when i got it so thats why i was concerned.

have no idea what plant it is just says bulb plant on the container. Although i thought my mom called it some ridiculously sounding name with bulb in it.

do the lower leaves feel plump and firm or limp? when they loose too much water they'll start to go limp and there's a definite feel to it. try testing the leaves now and after the shower. you'll easily feel the difference there.

Yeah, Amen to everything "zenloki" said.

From the pictures it looks like a Dieffenbachia "Camille", see picture below. A word of warning - the leaves are poisonous.
