Ok, first some things about me. 155 lb male, experienced with most common drugs, but this is about DXM/DPH. I robotrip a few times a month. My highest dose has been 570mg, which turned out to be a middle/high second plat, but as for DXM, I'm completely comfortable with upping the future dose to probably 800-1000mg (just gotta research the toxicity again). I tried DPH last night with 175mg and got very little out of it. Slight head spinning, slight impaired depth perception, slight awkwardness walking. Nothing to speak of though. Tomorrow night I plan to DPH+DXM, going 275mg DPH along with 300-350mg DXM. From my erowid/420chan/etc reserach, this appears to be a good pioneering dose. What do you guys think? Will the trip be good?
Bad bad bad idea. Both are subject to breakdown by CYP2D6 and combining them is just asking for trouble. Besides the physical danger, diphenhydramine has to be about the worst recreational drug in existance. Stick with dxm.
What are the exact, physical dangers of doing DPH besides harming yourself in confusion? Just wondering..
^my friend had a seizure on 450 mg, he had very irregular heart beats(by this i mean anywhere between dangerously too fast and dangerously too slow), his toungue swelled up, his lips turned blue, and he had extreme difficulty breathing. after that for about 2 hours he had no contact with this world and he repeatedly slammed his head in to stuff (book shelves, floors, walls, etc). his muscles locked up and and had no control over them for about and hour. he tried to claw his own face, and btw while he was convulsing his head convulsed into the fan, and had my non-tripping friend not been there he would have easily died.
IMO it is best to use the dph only for allergic responses or if you need to sleep and have no better drug. That combination is a recipe for stupidity if nothing else. Sometimes I would take cholinergics after or in combination with DXM--partially the opposite effect of adding DPH. I think this may have increased nausea a little but made things a little more vivid, crisper.
