I have a leaniet probation officer, she knows I smoke and wont change, she told me she doesnt have a problem with marijuana and me as long as I promise and never come up possitive for anything but marijuana. Each of these expermients I smoked the middle of the month, and quit 2 weeks before taking my test. Egor, I'm not going to lie. It can cause histamine and skin irritation making your skin red and you feeling sick. But this is all a depended factor on how much you take. I wasnt actually taking specifically niacin. I took a multi vitamin that contained 25 mg of niacin. I was taking about 12-15 vitamins a day. 4 morning with breakfast, 4 lunch, 4 dinner, and a few before bed. Which means I was taking about 350mg of niacin a day. Along with all the other nutrients and vitamins to help flush out my system. I was also drinking in between a gallon and two a day. Usually your urine would be clear, but with all the vitamins taking effect I was drinking so much water and urine was still solid gold. It took less then two weeks to clean out my system with just vitamins. and water.
I think if niacin does work for the purpose of passing a test it does so because it gets you to drink more water (and exercise ?) to keep the skin flushing from becoming to uncomfortable. Flushless forms of niacin such as niacinamide are available. As far as what vitamins are responsible for coloring, B2, B12, C, and the carotenoids (probably B2 is the biggest factor), are most logical, but certaintly other biomolecules, including protein, may be involved.
Everytime I flushed I did niacin, it works but boy does it suck. It makes me feel like a boiling lobster.
