Alright so ima try and make this quick cause it could be a really long story if i explain everything. So me and my wife need a costum for a party coming up, we head over to a Adult store and take a look at some sexy costums, lookin for Gag type of stuff not really sexual stuff, they didnt really have what we were lookin for. So were on the way back home and we see this bright flashing light up in a window, I couldnt help but to wonder what the heck it was, so I turned in and it just happen to be the only costum store in my city. We walk in and theres nobody in there but the owner, he seemed very normal and very helpfull, there was anything you could imagine here, no matter what it was, you could get it (Fantasy theatrical costume kinda stuff). Wigs, makeup, accesorys, props ect. After a while the owner became more animated and just wouldnt stop showing us stuff, the more we were 'wowed' the more he kept going. He kept talking about things he has done, including doing Paris Hiltons hair and makeup, and numerous different companys he has worked for. He was very tallented in voice acting, he could do tons of voices almost perfectly. He says he offers makeup classes that cost thousands of dollars, and that he sells costums and does makeup on halloween for thousands. (He told me exact numbers which i tried to remember for consistancy of his stories) After a bit he let on that he was gay and that he was a Drag Queen, and showed us a picture of him as cher, he looked exactly like her and sounded exactly like her.. So im not against people being different, Im trying to open up to new things and trying to get my wife to do the same, mind you im not gay never will be and i will never be a drag ever, i wont swing i wont group, but wether or not I should curse those things is what im questioning. SO weed got mintioned so he was closing the store and said we would talk outside because he said he has some very good shit, outside he invited us over to his apartment. Against my better judgement we decided to go over to his place for a quick blunt, his apartment was very normal and clean. We put on a DVD and hit up the blunt, his 'gay and drag' personality started to come out more and more, and this is when i was starting to question his stories. He REALLY started going on about all the companys hes worked for and all this stuff he has done (All companys very big and well known like FOX and AT&T), voice acting, makeup, ect. ect. He claimed he had done AOL's voice for Youve Got Mail and a voice actor for Barney, which he did very well. I asked him why he was here in this apartment running this store if he had done all this stuff, in which he never really gave a sastifying answer. His stories were very consistent when he would repeat them, and I am usualy good about figuring out if somebody is telling bull shit, I swear I couldnt detect it on him. I was stoned though. So anyway we left and that was the end of it, theres alot more details but you get the point, I felt really weird about the whole night and kinda freaked out. So today I am trying to research this guy and I believe he fucked up when came to the AOL voice acting story and barney, he claimed that he was apart of 4 voices for AOL, in which i can only find evidence of only 1 guy ever being AOL's voice, it seems they never change the sound on any new version. Also although I cant find a direct list of who has played barney, I can only find 2 names for him. I think me and my wife got CON'ed you could say, I think that he is one of those people that sits around and thinks of an insane life story for themselves so people will go 'wow', and really loves that high of tricking people. Anyway, wanted to share this super crazy night with sombody, the bad thing is we traded numbers and I have to go pick up the costume I ordered, not that I dont want to talk to him ever again, but I dont think i can be friends with sombody like that.. hell no.. His name was Adam Lester, so if you think you can find more info that I can.. go for it lol. Gotta keep it real.
I know a couple older people like that. It's kind of weird, especially getting high with them (or taking lsd at their apartment). A lot of people live lies or talk like they do, it's sort of sad really, but it happens, maybe they're just disappointed with what they've become or made of themselves. Maybe he just needs more friends.
I'm not sure if your guy was lying or not, but some people are like that. They don't feel comfortable just being themselves, and they pretend to be someonce else. He probably has some deeper issues too. What kind of costumes are you looking for exactly?
Yeah my wife said that she thinks he is looking for more friends, at one point in the night he told me I need more gay friends. and something about 'see what a drag does to you'. Hmm sounds like quite a night, that's for sure. That dude sounds like he's just reaching out for help.. He is probably some lonely man that thinks he has to think crazy shit up to make his life seem more interesting to other people so they'll notice him... He probably just wants someone to be his friend.
I do this sometimes, I take on a personality or character that is not me, and inpose it on others. Its a fun little thing to do when your bored.
