Muslims leave their countries and move to Europe, and this is a good thing I think, maybe because these Muslims are half-civilized. Also, when saying Muslim that should not be equivalent to terrorist. That's an entirely different thing, it's a mistake to call them so.

According to the London Evening Standard, Mohammed/Muhammed is now second in the list of the most popular boys' names for babies, after Jack.

...'Half-civilized'? What do you mean by that?

^ I mean they become half-European. Look at the clothes they wear. The ladies wear their hijab and long coats but also jeans.

Westernised would be a better way to express that, though I understand your point. Civilised comes from the Latin for civis - simply meaning the citizen of a town or city, pertaining to permanent settlement and community. Most people in the world are 'civilised'....

You mean, like, officially? Or just if non-Muslims go there they get beaten up?
Both are fucked-up - public street means everyone has the right to walk down it unmolested.
    Next it'll be ghettos...

    Aye, 'twas ever thus...

However this particular story seems to have originated from some inflammatory remarks made by a Christian bishop which actually cement division rather than seeking to address it:

ah, well, the frustration of having to make room for someone else is always creating frustration and dislike.

Some sociologists have talked about a growing ghettoisation in the UK. It doesn't exist to anywhere near the extent that it does in the US, but they've noted the warning signs. I'd be very sceptical about finding much truth in the rhetoric of one crazy preacher. However, where cultural divisions become entrenched there is a problem. This often has a lot to do with poverty and education, as I'm sure it does in the US, rather than strictly being a religious divide. But where there is poverty, there are insidious ideologies to exploit it: Islamic fundamentalism, fascism - they set themselves up as opposites, but there are striking similarities between the two....

It's fair to say "I hate Islam", but too often "muslims" is unthinkingly substituted as if the two are the same. A small semantic change can make a huge difference.

Though even hate itself is an irrationally emotive response in the majority of cases. Much more constructive to say 'I oppose Islam where it impacts negatively on...' In that way it comes to be treated as any other ideology with which we may agree or disagree to varying degrees. Making it an object of hate or love raises it above or lowers it below the field of rational discourse....

Well yes, it would be nice if nobody hated anything, but given that the person in question hated muslims, it would be a step in the right direction for him to hate an idea rather than several billion people...

very very silly. though i get irrationally angry at islam sometimes, too. i just don't see Islam when i look at a person, i see a person. makes it pretty easy to be reasonable.

I don't know about "taking over," Europeans (as far as I know) have low birth rates and very err liberal immigration policies. Most European nations are welfare states, so this is not surprising.

Absolute waffle and tripe ! exactly where are your figures from there is more like 6 - 8 million muslims. If there were only 2 million muslims that would put the figure at about the same number as there are blind people - there are two million blind people in britain and I dont see blind people in their thousands every day but each city has hundreds of thousands of muslims.

The population including illegals and other assorted people who should be chucked out of Britain amounts to around 65 million, that would make muslims roughly 1 in every 30 and 1/2 people

No way !!!! they account for at least 1 in 10
If there were only 2 million in Britain you would hardly ever see one
