Namaste! And hello family. I have been seeing an increase in meditation on the LSD forum lately, and have been reading everyone's various techniques. There is a thread here about charka meditation, people interested in Kundalini meditation, negation of thought, Nirvana, Transcendental Meditation, etc. Basically, all paths leading to the same destination. One problem many seem to encounter (if not everybody) is the creative thought process and how to stop it. But let me ask you, can you even imagine what it would be like to not have your life partner, indeed your very consciousness, negated? Some might say blackness, some may say it's like being asleep, whatever. It is not any of this, it is trascendental to your perception. This is Soul affirmation, this is the objective knowledge of God. All of these techniques are just pretty images and ways of getting to the Mind of God and are in actuality just basic physical and astral descriptions, still relying on thought, and in themselves, incomplete. Im going to give you the most simple, yet most demanding means of meditation, with which the focus is completley simple, yet the result is beyond what anyone who has never made the consious effort to try it can ever fathom. Here, I will quote my own post from another thread : That's it. No need to focus on chakras, because when you exist in nirvikalpa samadhi, or eternal bliss and consciousness of God, your healing and cleansing happens by itself. The rest is just diversions, not that they are bad, but they are not the Soul. The Soul is what you are in essence and the only way to go to it is to stop the mind. And how to stop the mind? Feel your consciousness pour out of and lift off your physical and astral body, let it not expand outwardly but rather inwardly, and keep the focus on the Soul. God and the Soul are absolute and to focus on either is impossible. But to exist as both is the only reality. Good health and good luck family. namaste - Surya
This thread has inspired me to give meditation a shot. I will practice tomorrow morning. How long should I do it for? I'm going to give it a good hour+, more if I'm in a good mood.
Dude, if your not into meditation and you can get an hour down with no problem, then you should really get into it heavily because that is a sign of an advanced mind, trust me. When I started, an hour would only work if the first 30 was spent mentally repeating mantras counting on prayer beads. Now I can just bliss out on the floor with no aids. Let me know how it goes! And rememeber, it can take years of practice before you tap into that soul bliss. But when you do, it never wears off, and you will never struggle with any negative emotions again. -
Hey people! Here are some links to meditation videos I found on YouTube. Watch all five cause it's one whole video. It's really simple, there really are no set rules that one HAS to follow. Try it now and you will soon be on your way to astral body experiences and 3rd eye visions. Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZP0Hhcov8c Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlBUy4ULWls Part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF5S_hxcZxc Part 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gd7SF5aWReM Part 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XazbVW8_gI Have fun!
ugh! i think perhaps possibly the instructionalized meditations is what he was trying to get away from here,, but i could be worng
your theories suggest that meditation is somehow linked universally to religious spirituality and the belief in a higher power what if you don't believe in god?
My 'theory' just explained that if you dont believe in God, it's because you haven't looked. Refute that all you want, if one does not experience something directly, it will always be either blind faith or blind rejection.
My friend, it is true that this thread is not exactly the place for this sort of instruction, because if you had read my post, you would see that astral expereince is a diversion to the end result of God Consciousness. Im not saying it's a bad thing, I've had many astral projections. The third eye is something that comes naturally with the meditation I've layed out, you dont try to open it because expecatations always lead to disappointment. Im just telling you all to let it flow naturally, dont force it because forcing requires a mental effort, and the soul is transcendent to the mind.
Exar, I want to apologize for the way I responded to your post. If you dont believe in God you can still meditate this way, and Im sorry for being so bold. It's just that to me, who was an atheist for 19 years, after the experiences I've had, someone telling be they dont believe in God is like someone saying there is no Sun. I just have to learn how to silently love God and let people be. And moiseyenko, I want to apologize to you as well, you posted with nothing but Love and enthusiasm and I shot your post down. Your post is more than welcome here, and I hope you can forgive me for turning a brother of mine away from my heart. Namaste to you both and please look past my former rude comments.
when i meditate i pay attention to my breathing and my heart beating. because these are things that my body does naturally without needing my mind to control it when i focus on these things i am free from thought. if i haven't meditated in a while it is more difficult to let go. the more often you meditate the easier it will become.
meditation works for everyone and is in no way better for someone who believes in god. most likely after meditating for some time you will find some kind of spiritual outlook and this may or may not include the belief in a god. i don't believe in a god in the traditional sense. i believe we are all one - god is everything. god is not some entity.
in all honesty my friend you seem like a very confused fellow... flitting back from one thing to another, like you just did there by going back on yourself. You seem to be a pleasant enough person, but I'm not going to accept your apology on the grounds that I feel your apology is forced. Don't let anything lie on your head, rest easy you've insulted noone and your apology is unnecessary. I think you've been completely reasonable... and though you remain unconvincing in your arguments to me at least... my respect for you is a good cut above the rest, I hope your newly found eternal truths remain true for as long as you hope... I would speculate otherwise but of course its none of my business. peace
Exar, Love you kid, wether you accept my apology or not. I dont exactly see how I am flitting from one thing to another, I never changed my statemet, I only apologized for being bold towards you with my comment. But whatever, if that's how you see it what can I say? Im only here to help, not defend my character. Namaste *
I did read you post very well and thats why I didnt post links to any instructional videos. Now if you would have watched this video you would have seen that for yourself, all it does is decribe how the outcomes of meditation progress with time when someone really wants to take it up seriously and truly believes in it. Expectations are not as bad as you make them sound, as a matter of fact expectations are a rather good reason for a person to stick to something which he truly believes in. I dont know about others, but I usually do have expectations for every action that I take and when I fail I dont get disappointed at all, it just motivates me to keep on doing it. I know that the astral and 3rd eye experiences are probably the hardest to achieve and one should not jump into doing meditation just because he/she read up about them online or heard about them from some friend. I use meditation simply to relax myself, to clear my mind of my day to day problems and it really works for me. If I really want to experience something deep I will just drop some acid and have a clear mindset towards what I want to achieve out of my trip and it works very well for me.
expectations-what a great discussion. there's the theory "no expectation, no dissapointment" to expect something is a sign of attachment-something spirituality tells us is of lower vibration. we are upposed to release ourselves or transcend attachments BUT isn't also true that we create our own reality...and what we think about manifests? then isn't also true that we need to expect to win in order to win? you hear all the time of atheletes etc saying they always knew they could do it and that was the secret. you must believe in order for something to happen...even jesus said that-by faith alone one can move mountains. isn't that expectation?
3Xi try looking at your meditation in this light. I realize, many people suggest focusing your awareness on your heart beat. The breathe is vital to moksha through pranayama. But the heart beat? The heart beat is another means of staying identified with one's body. It prevents seperation of mind and body because it is like a last thread that needs to be cut. It's useful when you are an amateur and need to focus on one physical sensation in order to rid your thought from acknowleding other parts of your body. But eventually it should be discarded. Do you use a metronome when you play guitar? It's one thing to play lead solo's all the time, but if you have no rythm, you have no soul in music. Same applies to meditation. Just try letting your spirit fly, with nothing, at all, to hold you back. Easier said than done, sure but it's not impossible.
Right, Jesus said that. But how come nobody ever did it? It's because when you master self discipline and your will power and faith, which is in yourself, is strong enough to move mountains, you would be working in God's will and would therefor have no desire to interrupt anyone elses mind with magic tricks. But that is besides the point really. I would say, if you believe that Love is the only reality, and you understand that you have no idea how endless God's love is for you, than there is no expectations, you dont know God yet, and it is your dharma, not your creation or your hobby, to find Him. You may expect in the end to be Christ like. But that doesnt mean it will happen. You can only expect Love really, but what is Love? How can we even know how it deep that runs until we go all the way through? All expectations are limited because we cant comprehend that much Love, that's why I said they are useless
Relayer- Have you considered offering your wisdom in the free school here to guide people along the way toward making themselves components of peace or does this discipline not lend itself to a classroom environment?
Stinkfoot! My man! I've never seen you posting around these parts To be honest, I've never thought of it, though I've thought of going there and learning myself (just havent done it, maybe I havent been ready? hmmm). Thank you for the idea, I dont consider myself actually wise but I have absorbed many different teachings, and am studied in many different forms of yoga and meditation, and have read numerous, and I mean numerous, amounts of scripture. This sounds like a good idea, who do I take it up with, Skip?
