I'm very much aware of how often you should wash your dreads per week/month. But i'm curious exactly as to what you mean by wash. When you say wash does this mean getting the hair wet period, or using actual shampoo. Peace and Love, John. Keepin' it Groovy since 93'
yup... using shampoo or bar soap (all natural/residue-free, that is) *edit* sorry, I misread your post. You can get them wet as often as you want... but the reason why folk try to avoid that is because mature dreads take so long to dry. I only get them wet when I'm specifically washing them or if I've gone swimming or something.
So does this mean you shower as often as you wash? Or do you put your hair in a protecting case of some sort so you don't get your hair wet as often as you do your body.
I usually just pull my hair up on top of my head when I'm not washing it in the shower to prevent it from getting wet.
If i don't wash my dreads when i shower, i tend to tie them up, that way they just get damp instead of soaked.... though i usually can't keep myself from washing them. i love how they feel when they are all clean
i ususally wash my dreads once or twice a month. when i shower, i tie them up out of the way. you can wash your hair or get it wet as often as you like, just make sure its drying out completely in between.
If your locks are short enough (like mine are) you dont even need to tie them back. Just dont get your hair wet when you're not washing.
I didnt want to jack someone elses thread so..I went to cvs to look for a soap and such, and somehow I ended up walking out with dove sensitive skin unscented mild soap.Would this work for now? I will be making a trip to the health food store I didnt even know was there sometime in the next few weeks. But yeah..would this work?
Do any of the ingredients end in the suffix 'paraben'? Does it contain SLS? Those things are evil and will make your internal organs spill out of your nose. FACT
I think I heard somewhere that that stuff was ok. Basically anything that says "organic" should be kosher. only a certain percentage of all natural stuff needs to go into "all-natural" products to give them that label, so i'd steer clear unless it says both "organic" and all natural. To be honest I wash my hair once a week and I usually only ever shower once a week too... nobody yells at me for stinking so I get away with it.
Hahaha me too bro, honestly, I don't enjoy showering that much, and don't wash my hair all that often, But I figure its time for a wash after who knows how long. But i'm feeling the need to wash so maybe I'll just wash my body with the soap and then hair once just with a lil bit..
