I forgot just how much everyone ingnores the main weed forums so im reposting this here. I could go on and on about how weed isent bad for you, studies say...yada yada. But we all have heard it and know it. The fact of the matter is, weed does have some slight long term risk. But there is not one sceintist who studies weed for either side that dosent know that the risks of alchol is much greater. The reason they give for having alclohol being legal is because it is too engraved in our culture and that they tried to ban it, but it led to orgainized crime, overcrowded jails, coroption and other criminal offences. Sound familiar? Lets look at all the things that weed leds to. O yeah, its all of the above. If it werent illegal the majority of these problems would go away. One in every two adult americans has smoked pot. Id say thats preatty damn engraved in our culture. I mean think of all the people that would never break any other law now labeled as criminals. Gov. Awwnold, is desperatly trying to find a way to make back the 17 billion that his state is in debt, mainly due to overcrouded jails. Id say having it illegal is doing a lot more harm than good. Back to prohabitions. The weed prohabitions started right after the booze prohobitions. And they had the exact same results. They are just the same. So why was the alchol law lifted but not the marijuania one? If anyone tries to claim that this makes any sense then your are fucking retarded.
legalising weed now would be like: sorry, we wrong all this time. then people will start to question all the other shit the government has lied about, it will lead to mass chaos imo
Your preaching marijuana legalization in a marijuana forum, of course every slack hearted pothead is going to agree with you.
I like to imagine if it were the opposite- if cannabis were always part of European culture in lieu of alcohol. Now let's pretend alcohol was introduced to the U.S in the early 1900s. it would be illegal nowadays without a doubt. anyway, the country would be a MUCH better place if cannabis were legal, hemp has over 2,500 industrial uses, we would find marijuana replacing alot of prescription meds, drunk driving would be cut down, jails would empty out and real criminals would be locked up, we would stop wasting 4 billion a year on bullshit programs, the list goes on and on. the only reason it's not legal to this day is because there are billionaires that want to stay that way. every day tobacco and alcohol companies donate 1 million dollars to programs like drug free america, DARE, above the influence, ect. there is also bribery involved with politicians. it's no different with paper and lumber companies as well, the same people cutting down the precious rain forest. I belive that by 2020 it will be legal. the movie reefer madness, instead of ending with "The End", the words "Tell your children" appeared and flashed on the screen. People told their children, and those children are now our politicians. soon the next generation will be our leaders, and they'll know the truth about it.
this issue was my main catalyst into the start of me getting interested in politics and wanting to actually be in government and maybe even run for president 2028 or later if there is an America by then one day i was checking out norml.org and saw they had an interview with some guy named ron paul then i was like wow! then i started reading up on marijuana and everything getting all the facts blah blah blah blah life is awesome!!!
Studies may show 1 in 2 adults in America have smoked trees... but i think that number is A LOT HIGHer i mean to be honest i can only think of 1 parent of every parent i know... who hasn't tried it... and look at HIGHschool seniors, check how many of them have tried smoking trees at least once... A lot more than 1 in 2... I would say about 95% of them where im from... lol like 1 in 2 smoke everyday...
