    hi everyone
had my first mescaline trip about two weekends ago and i can say even from my first experience that it is an awesome journey/experience/trip and i can't wait to try it again. One thing that did discourage me a bit was the taste.....SPPEEWWW!! It honestly tasted like i had vomited and i was drinking the vomit, anyone know what i'm talking about? We did the usual method of preparation buy cutting it up and boiling it for a few hours.

It sticks with you. I went into a coffee shop while I was bonced, and the smell was similar. At the time I almost got sick. Now, even a year later I can't go into that coffee shop because the smell makes me queasy.

haha that's funny man. That's similar to what on one of my friends told me, he said the first time he did it, he mixed it with his favorite flavor of cordial, and now he can't drink the stuff because it reminds him of the cactus juice lol. Still the trip is worth the bad taste

Honestly, to tell you the truth the initial taste is all in your mind and you can block it out, if you know what i mean. The hard part is swallowing it your body naturally rejects it thus making it hard as shit to swallow probably because the mescaline which is a natural insectiside that your body does'nt want.

mescaline is a natural insecticide? Are you sure about that, and if so can you give me a link or any info that proves this? I'm always hearing myths about mescaline and mushrooms etc but most of them sound like bullshit like this one.

i own and grow cactus and in the papers that came with my cacti it talks about the origin and how the indians use it as a sacrament and it explains that and i quote, " This bitter tasting chemical acts as an insecticide: thus, San Pedro rarely suffers any insect infestations. Because the amout of mescaline is not concentrated, as it is in peyote, there is no legal restriction in growing San Pedro Cactus." theres my proof if i had a scanner or some shit i would fucking show you

It's not true. Insects love mescaline. Spiders cast webs between bridgesii all over the world.
    Mescaline is a psychedelic alkaloid.

Why is it in the cactus?
The same reason DMT is in your brain, psilocybin is in mushrooms, LSD in ergot, muscimol in amanitas, thujone in sage, thc in ganja.

Ok guys calm down. I agree it has something to do with it being a natural insecticide. Only because when i trip on it I get that thought in my reflectings. But besides the point it really does taste bad. I agree with fun and fantastic but sp ewww is right. you gotta do it quick and thin it out with a glass of water as a chaser.

Spiders casting webs would not be harmful to the cactus because there not attacking the flesh of the cactus.... just making a web on it usin it as a post lol

LSD is not actually in ergot. Lysergic acids are in ergotamine, which are then synthesized into LSD.
