If you have sex during the end of your menstrual cycle and got pregnant, would your menstural cycle abruptly stop, or would it continue on until the cycle completed?

Well, your chances of getting pregnant during that time are not very good, partly because your uterine wall is shedding its lining, which would make an egg difficult to implant, and also because generally the egg from your current cycle would usually be passed out of your body at that point, and the egg for the new cycle wouldn't be made until around 2 weeks after the start of your period.

If, for whatever reason, an egg was fertilized during this period, your bleeding would probably continue on as usual, because there's a period of about 3-7 days between the egg actually being fertilized and the egg actually implanting itself in the uterine wall. The egg has to develop on its own for a while before its big enough to implant.

    Hope that helped,
    Kate

I dont know if you could get pregnant right after you got off your menstrual cycle because i think it takes 13-15 days for you to ovulate. Im not saying you cant but its very unlikely. But i do believe that your menstrual cycle still continues even when your pregnant.

It's possible that it would continue - if the egg was fertilized and stayed in there long enough for your period to end and the fertilized egg to implant, or if it implanted right away (before being pushed out by your period) then yes, your period would continue.

Do you think you're pregnant? Did you have unprotected sex during your period?
If you're worried, wait for a couple of weeks and take a test, and (if you don't get a positive) take another test as early as the first day you're expecting your next period, or wait until you're a few days late if you want. You don't have to spend a lot on tests, they all work the same and usually, you'll get a positive about two weeks after implantation. If you're REALLY worried/impatient, go to the doctor for a blood test, they can usually tell right away.

In all reality, it's completely possible to get pregnant ANY time during your cycle - before or after ovulation, or during menstruation. There is no real "safe" time to have unprotected sex if you don't want to get pregnant.
