I'm debating between whether I should plant First Girl, Early Misty, or Big Bud... The most important thing is not yield, but is that it must be tough, resilient, and disease/bug resistant. I'll be planting it in a nearby woods. Second most important thing is that I have to be able to harvest it before August ends. Least important is yield amount (all three of them are quite high I believe). I live in New Jersey. Any ideas?
I was going to recommend Speed Queen from Mandala seeds. But before August ends is a tall order. Id say your best bet would be some Lowryder #2's. Anything else would take too long, and even the Lowryder #2's might be pushing it. You may choose to start it in march or april and then put it outside in may. Then you have at most 3 months for the plant to switch into flowering and finish flowering. Outdoor plants start flowering when the nights and days become the same length in hours, roughly 12 hrs of night and 12 hrs of daylight(well technically, they start to pre-flower when the days start getting shorter, not necessarily when the days and nights are even, 12/12). So when plants begin to flower outdoors it totally depends on where you live and when the days and nights become the same amount of time. Lets say this happens around the end of July, middle of August. That means you still have atleast 6-10 wks of flowering time. Putting you harvesting around end of September at the earliest. If you start some Lowryder #2's inside with cfl's around the beginning of april, and put them outside early or middle of may, you should be harvesting around beginning of august or middle of august. You could go with Lowryder #1's too, but the Lowryder #2's are said to get abit bigger and yeild a bit more. Plus the smoke is supposed to be abit improved aswell. Of course this is just my 2 cents but i do believe this would be about the only way to harvest in the amount of time you have. - 42o -
Hey, thanks for the extensive info! But the trouble is, I cannot plant inside AT ALL. I can maybe germinate the seeds inside, that's all that I can do, because I don't want to get caught by the college residence or my parents... so as soon as the seeds germinate, I have to take them outside. Here's a time table with the sunset and sunrise times... (put New Jersey as the State) http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/RS_OneYear.php Please provide me with more info on when to plant, and also what to plant if I can't get Lowryder #2 (what is the harvest produce per plant?)
Well id advise atleast sprouting them inside, then as soon as they sprout take them outside (the longer you can let them be inside the better). I would start this around the beginning of may. As soon as they sprout, or if you can wait a week before you take them out that would be better, Either way put them outside around the middle to end of May. They should finish in the amount of time you have (before the end of august). Of course, all this info is based on using the strain Lowryder or Lowryder #2. Here is some info on Lowryder #2 Lowryder #2 Seeds Genetics: Santa Maria x Lowryder Type: f1 Hybrid Harvest Date: 9 weeks from Seed Flowering Period: 6+ weeks THC Content: Unknown No. of Seeds Per Packet: 10 Characteristics: Bushy, very early flowering plants with prolific budding. The long-awaited successor to the Joint Doctor's flagship strain is finally here. Lowryder #2 is the newest product of the breeder's quest to improve the strength, yield and flavour of his original variety while maintaining the unusual characteristics that made it so popular. Lowryder #2 has been infused with superior Santa Maria genetics, a variety known for copious resin production, exotic taste and soaring highs, it is an indica / sativa hybrid originally from Brazil. The cross was subsequently selectively inbred for three generations. The result is an auto-flowering dwarf that yields a wonderfully strong, head-turning smoke with intoxicating taste. The strength and flavor is backed by copious resin production and much-improved yield and stability. Buds are larger, tighter and more aromatic than the original Lowryder. As with Original Lowryder, no separate room or light cycle is needed to flower Lowryder #2. Outdoors, Lowryder #2 will mature quicker than any non-auto-flowering variety. Notice:: That description was provided by Dr Chronic. He is no longer shipping seeds to the US. But you can still get them at seedbay.com. As for other "Early" strains....... Here is a link that covers pretty much every early maturing or auto-flowering strain. http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=20104 - 42o -

^Sweet 105 is a bit too long but thanks anyway! I can keep the thing inside my room as long as it can be contained within a cup... And as long as it doesn't require much light. And as long as it doesn't smell too bad. I really like it, the only two things keeping me hesitating is: I noticed that the yield for Lowryder #2, described on some websites, is only 28-42g per plant... and also, it is not sold on the seed websites I trust. (Out of the only few that does sell Lowryder #2, which one do you trust?) It says 8 weeks from seed to bud, so that means if I plant in May, I'll get it roughly in the beginning July, right? Since it's 8 weeks no matter what the sunlight hours are? Are there anything I can germinate in May, and harvest in August? (Or can Lowryder #2 be harvested in August?) Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated!!! EDIT: I'm thinking about buying Lowryder #2 (or another type of autoflowering plant, any suggestions?) What's the most trustworthy website that comes up on google when I type in "Lowryder #2"? Thanks a bunch!
